Well even though this is way old, it was a delight to discover it just now. I got to see Mr. Browder at a convention once. He owns his SF geekness. What a great guy and so appreciative of the fans! He was born to play John Crichton, for sure. Very underrated actor.

This interview was awesome. Loved Ben showing his sci fi cred by referencing Red Dwarf, and at the end, he goes straight into the crowd! He loves the fans! What a guy.

It's so sweet how he just goes and shakes everyones hand and acknowledges the fans! He's so frickin adorable!!

Yes, this is one of Craigs audition shows. Great work, and Ben is wonderful here and makes a great point about Sci-Fi fans vs sports fans. Right on! Farscape is great and Ben should be a major star and have an Emmy for the show.

Have only just watched the entire series and the extra peacekeepers wars and all I can say is I wish there was something as good nowadays. Fantastic show and Ben played his part perfectly as did all his co-stars and being an Aussie incredibly proud of what both companies achieved 👍

If I am a successful person in the future I would desperately want to revive farscape.

Ben is so funny. He didn't need a lot of character study to play Crichton in Farscape.

Farscape and Star Trek TNG are, for me, the hands-down best Sci-fi TV shows ever made. I'd say Red Dwarf and Dr. Who as well but not sure as many would agree with me there since it took me a while to get into them myself. I wish Farscape had stuck around longer, but I'm glad a talented guy like Ben Browder got to do something that's going to affect people for such a long time.

I just found out that ben and craig are actually the same age, both born in 1962. kinda hard to believe isn't it?

@HALPHprice I just finished the entire series and the Peacekeeper wars...It sucks that it got canceled early and I cant say im entirely pleased with the ending but at least it provides some sense of closure.

Ben is fantasic, love him in Stargate.

Could have gone longer. Ben was really up there with Craig.

Craig has relaxed in his interviewing style a lot since this was recorded.

Daym this video perfectly displays the weird attitude people had towards people who liked sci fi or "geeks" back in the day.

This guy is INCREDIBLY hot...I mean REALLY REALLY HOT! And, Farscape is the best TV show ever...and everyone should ban together and get it back!!!!!

WOW Craig Ferguson certainly has a low opinion of science fiction fans and also apparently can't grasp the fact that Farscape had/has a large female fanbase. "They're not science fiction fans. Look at them; they're lovely" I love Ben's not-so-subtle defense of science fiction fans by bringing attention to the fact that football fans can be just as fanatic or enthusiastic, but somehow that's normal and going to conventions and doing cosplay isn't.

@@davididiart5934 Glad you like it. It was such fun to get on the forum and discuss/pick apart/revel in such a great show. We had some great times. People from all over the world. I can still remember the Americans having to "translate" some of Crichton's Americanisms for the fans from Oz and the Kiwis. And some of us got pretty close. Some of us even met each other in rl. It went on for a good few years even after the cancellation of Farscape, but sadly it seems to have finally dissolved now.

I don't. Farscape fandom largely seemed to have an adult appreciation of the show and the work that went into it, without needing to insert our own egos into the equation. We didn't need cutesy nicknames or to go around sqwawking soundbites like parrots all the time. (Can you tell my patience for the Browncoats wore away long, LONG ago?)

He was kidding. Ben's actually Australian. They learn American accents to be more marketable in the US-Canada-worldwide market. As actors, you want to be flexible and available for all sorts of roles and jobs.

Diane d'Lune no... he wasn’t. Ben is all American. He was born in Memphis and grew up in Charlotte. He’s spent a lot of time in Australia, and I’m pretty sure he lived there during the run of the show. He lives in LA now, and did during SG-1.
