I have looked at about a dozen different designs that all do roughly the same thing. However, I think yours is not only the simplest as far as design, it also requires very few parts in comparison. And, it looks VERY stable, which is my number 2 criteria after functionality I’ll be watching the second video shortly and I will definitely move this one up my project list. I look forward to the second video and I will definitely be subscribing after this message...

Cool build Jack i have the same Makita belt sander that worked well for over 20 years for the life of me. I can’t. Understand why. I hadn’t built something for mineafter all these years although i do also have a Porter Cable sander that lays on its side and upside down pretty well but in all honesty ive never liked its balance or feel in my hands so ive mainly. Use the Makita

I picked up a almost new 9401 Makita for 10 dollars today. Needs a dust bag, the rest looks good, but have not given it a work out. How much did these things cost, it's a beast of a belt sander. Looks good what you did....been looking at sanders the past month and got this off a local facebook market seller who's dad said to let it go for 10 bucks. I told the guy he could have gotten a much better price on Ebay for it.
