This is not Bellini. The conductor apparently thinks he is conducting a Mascagni opera and the singers apparently are auditioning for some 20th Century verismo work. There is no legato, no integrated line, and certainly no care to bring the emotion and the melody into a coherent statement. Pathetic, especially because this is what the greatest opera house is doing to demean Bellini.

Angela Meade Will not be rembered as one of The Great Normas.Barton average.
