Love this English pundits waffling about England having a world class squad and unbelievable players, yet they fail to realise that what’s missing for them is quality midfielders ( who can pull the strings and control the tempo of the game when needed), you can see when they play with decent teams who play with low block they struggle to produce the intricate passes and cutting edge to break down the opponent and create chances, England has no player like that in their squad( Foden might be the closest to that yet gets played in the wing) , Croatia,Italy and France and even lately Ukraine away shows this , unless they get a favourable draw and can’t see this team winning a major tournament. You can have the Bellingham’s, Saka’s and Kane’s of the world and still come short with no quality players through the middle

Stop talking so much sense! It’s been Englands crux for as long as I can remember.. a player who controls the tempo of a game, keeps the ball in difficult positions to take the pressure of the defence. Pirlo, Modric, Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso type players. Closest we had was Scholes and he got shifted to the left for Gerrard/Lampard..’your ‘typical English’ players (as good as they were). England have all the attacking talent but up against the big nations, we surrender the ball and can’t keep it.

Been saying this for years, was the reason we couldn’t control Italy in the final despite being a goal up, they had ball playing midfielders in Verrati and Jorginho and we had Phillips and Rice…end of story

On current form I'd say Gordon is better than Cole Palmer. My top 5 would be Bellingham, Rico Lewis, Gordon, Palmer and Colwill.

Jude haters don't understand how insane his stats are considering he's only 20 and this is his first season at the biggest football club in the world and he's not even a striker he's pretty much hit the ground in the absence of Vinnie and Benzema it's not normal

Or they had the highest transfer fees because they are the most talented players. Rico Lewis didn’t have any transfer fee and still made the list, albeit too low.

Saka can prove me wrong but he’s just not up there currently, he has to change his game a bit to be a recognised attacker. More step overs and nutmegs or simply cut inside more like Roben did

He's just not a step over and nutmeg guy. He never will be. He can just have an efficient Muller non flashy game with the Robben finishing and that will be devastating. It will be enough.

I think if they'd waited for the English U21 demolishment of Serbia last last, they'd have 10+ more names, although Parmer and Elliot featured.
