Belle & Sebastian are the most underrated British act of the era certainly. Can hear some Paul Simon inspiration in this one.

on the other hand, and i don't know why up until now i read that lyrics so lightly but "big pockets for the pharmaceuticals she takes to fix her brain" is just actually heartbreaking! it hurts, like a lot! even if its just a fictional character from a song. i thought judy would write a song about her dream of horses and this now feels like an utter defeat of some unknown kind. they let judy go blind....

this album ? my saviour.

Beautiful musical changes around the Chorus. Belle and Sebastian do saccharine melancholy so well... All my mates were listening to cut ya wrist dirges when they fell in and out of life. I think a Belle and Sebastian session was a better tonic!
