Living Hell is a story about my childhood. It’s a story about how I struggled growing up inside a real-life living hell in a tiny room in the Philippines. My whole life, I’ve been trying to escape my childhood trauma, my living hell, and no matter how much therapy I do, no matter how much medicine I take, and no matter how far I try to run away…it always comes back to haunt me. The music video is inspired by my childhood room. My room was yellow and had a lock on the outside. Yellow because it was a color I was forced to like growing up. It was my parents way of letting me know that they have the power in the house. And a lock on the outside because my parents wanted to make sure that I didn’t escape when I was in there. It was really hard for me to relive this while shooting the music video. I really want to talk to you more about it when I’m ready. Sorry for the essay the reason I’m writing this because I want all of you who are reading this and all of you who have supported me along this journey to understand that I love you more than you know. You guys are my escape. You guys are why I wake up everyday. You guys are the reason that I’m able to break free from this mess and in my darkest times, understand that things are going to be okay. I truly can’t thank you enough and I want you to know that I’m here for you the same way that you’re here for me. To anyone who is also going through their own living hell, you will escape and I'll be right there by your side. This one's for you💛

If there’s one way to viscerally communicate the idea of parental/guardian trauma it’s the line “I can make your life a living hell if I wanted to”. My mother used to scare the absolute crap out of me. One day I was at my sisters (her and my mother had stopped talking). I'd been there all morning and I get a phone call off my mother. "Come home now". My sister saw me face and said she doesn't envy me that walk home. I'd be walking along panicking, wondering what I could have possibly done wrong. All I had done was dare to spend time with my sister. My mother never needed to say that line "I can make your life a living hell". She had a way of making you feel it. Took me a long time to find the strength to leave that situation and I've had to deal with alot of issues for a long time. Now I'm a mother myself and I constantly panic that I'll make the same mistakes that my mother did. It's a struggle. But this song hits me deep and so does Bella's story. I don't follow her on tiktok (I don't even have it, it's not for me), but I love her music and she's just cute as a button.

I resonate with this a lot I had a really traumatic childhood with power trips, guilt trips , feeling so small , you want it to end and then just become numb and on auto pilot , can't feel just going through your day but can't remember conversations , losing days . Then I got out and it took me years and a really good support system to break me out that and become stronger and independent and know my own mind and stand up and let them know I won't be that person anymore

This is my favourite song from you yet. The funny thing is, nothing I owned growing up was yellow, because I made sure my “family” never knew I loved it. I’d make up a different favourite color every few years in a cycle, because yellow would have been just another tool to control me. Since moving out, almost everything I own is yellow. Freedom. I love the way you express urself am just treated the same way u are ... never given the opportunity to express my self always been locked from reality and treated like a second hand doll my great passion for music 🎶 was been discouraged by some family friends and parents but now my mom is dead I felt same way for music.. the only thing is for someone to help me prove them that there all wrong

This song has left an impression on me. Knowing a bit of the backstory behind the lyrics makes them so much more important and meaningful. The music tells a story, and so do the visuals. yeah true. I wasn't a fan of her at first. I knew her when people were sort of hating on her and I was like she seems good so lemme follow her then I heard about her past and it broke me. In the music video I try to correlate everything she was saying in the music video to the interview and it breaks me. Hats off to anyone struggling with their trauma :')❤

This is why living in a Filipino household is a matter of how lucky you are to avoid nightmarish parents. Imagine the struggles of every Filipino offspring out there just to try and escape the chaotic reality of trauma and oppression within a household. I love how Bella did portray this reality through her music. This is such an amazing repertoire, a soothing masterpiece with deep meanings behind.

Can't imagine how hard it was to make this. I've recently tried writing stories to help process trauma myself, and I barely get past a few sentences/pages without scrapping it and needing to rest for days. Respect that you managed to make the video, and good luck with recovery.

WOW. All of Bella's songs and MV's have so much meaning, from feminism to sexual assault and now childhood trauma. Most pop music (not to hate! just my experience) is so light and fluffy, and to people who have hard lives it often just feels fake. Bella hasn't even come out with many songs yet, and already I find myself relating to all of them on a level I've never felt with any other pop artist. I'm so looking forward to listening to the EP :) I'm not going to sleep tonight!!! And to Bella: I really really REALLY hope making this has helped you heal in some way. Trauma never goes away, but you can always grow around it and form your own identity and confidence and life. I hope I can continue to listen to your music through your healing process and that one day I can follow in your footsteps through mine

I think the better way to say it, is that she's brave enough to show herself vonerable. Comfortable is maybe not the right way to put it. (I get your intention tho and ofc agree. She's amazing!)

It's funny how yellow is the color of betrayal/infedility/distrust even. Good message Bella as always, and I hope for anyone that is healing, it gets better.

It's crazy to think Bella went through all this as a child. She has made it so far and I know that her parents/guardians are jealous and wish they treated her better. The message by bella has made me feel her as a real artist, not just some girl who's on tiktok, it makes me feel great about the fact on how she used her success from tiktok and then used her talent because she knew she'll become successful. And of course her tiktok followers watched and she grew huge. I can see the talent and determination in her. It's great to see someone actually utilising thier fame in a good way. Also how much respect she has for the fans and respect she has for her fans its wonderful to see it in an artist, it represents some of the great qualities of an artist. Hi i'm from philippines and my mom forced me to paint my room blue because it's a "BOY COLOR" if i paint it any other colors, they'd start accusing me of being part of lgbtq+ and most of the families were really religious and had a tremendous terrifying rules at home, and filipino culture is when you explain yourself to them even though they are the wrong one, you'll be certified disrespectful kid
