i must say that the italians have cast some great sounding bells the bells in the northern region such as verona (very similar ringing style to change ringing) are amazing to listen to the peal of bells in Rosa they are hung for veronese ringing but are amazing to listen to the italians do a great job with their bells these days Search Campane di Rosa and there are a few videos of them they are amazing to listen to

Lovely sounding bells. Curious as to why the best were cast in Italy as apposed to Taylor's or the Westley group ex Whitechapel bells. Maybe it is simply more cost effective.

Because Matthew Higby partnered up with Allanconi because he doesn’t have a foundry in his workshop because it will be too big. However Ben tunes them to his and Matthew’s Profile.

@@RingerThomas now love Westbury even though have never ring there. Here is a Question, could Taylor's produce a peal like York minster??? These prewar heavy bells seem to have a depth and a drone that doesn't happen today. I could go to York minster lay and the floor and listen to a peal and feel like I have met God.

@@Steven_Rowe Yes they can. They changed the profile in the mid 1920s. Taylor’s then changed it again in the 1960s. Mike Milsom tuned the bells at Sydney St Andrew and they are stretched. Evesham were the last true ring of bells that came out of the foundry. I think Taylor’s can produce York Minster again. They can just copy the profiles like what Whitechapel did to St Mary’s Sydney and Canterbury cathedral. Pre WW1 they had proportionately larger soundbows on the front bells. Then they gradually standardized their soundbow size across the range, until recently when the soundbows all got smaller. Their bells from 10 years ago were pretty much the same profile as their bells from 70 years ago, but had stronger higher frequencies. 1920s tended to be a mix of 'A' crook and older ones, but from the 1930s onwards they stuck to 'A' crook except for a handful of 'B' crook like the front four of Pier Head. They may have altered tin content, crook settings and other stuff, but the crooks (gauges) were the same. You should ask Andrew Higson about it. As he tuned the bells of Great St Mary’s and St Michael Cornhill.
