The fact that you had to point out the date means either it's perfectly positioned...or I should never be put in a situation where I'm responsible for other's safety. The logo size and seconds hand differentiate the rest of it's class. The domed crystal is the key to how great it looks on the wrist, flat crystal screams explorer. Great review. Your camera work showed the key details well. Keep at it.

Love the date on this model, usually I don’t like the date at all on watches, breaks the symmetry. But on here it’s so subtle. Thought the crystal was acrylic, great review!

Man... Bell & Ross makes some incredible watches. Personally I could never get past the logo. IMO it cheapens the look of incredibly well built and designed watches. Everything else is a home run though. Amazing dial and crystal!

Great review. I'm really torn between getting this or a Sinn 556a. Though the Sinn seems to be built like a tank & widely respected as a brand, I do prefer the refined dial design & case of the B&R. It looks like it would also wear better on the wrist than the Sinn.

From my personally experience I do feel like the case of the sinn wears better/fits better on wrist, but the br is undoubtedly a little more “dressy.” It just comes down to if you want a dressier watch that leans sporty or a sporty watch than can lean dress.

It should be offered with: - No date - No brand logo (on the dial) - magnetic field resistant - shock resistant - negative pressare resistant. Then we have a REAL high level pilot watch

I like the watch for sure and actually really like how they incorporated the date window however if I was in the market for a watch that style I would be going Traska Summiteer for sure that price seems steep IMO...

Jeremy Keller ya trust me at 2000 it’s a hard pill to swallow. At 1200-1500 it’s a lot better. I had both the green and black traska summiteer and it is a great watch no doubt. I do personally feel this watch is better overall but value for price traska wins out of course.

Do you think this watch could make a everyday piece ??? . Great review as always ..

I think they missed a trick here and should have placed the circular date wheel as the ampersand in the branding. Zodiac super sea wolf?! Wow! have you reviewed this watch, it looks amazing? Can you link that mesh Milanese strap from watchgecko?

The Gent date in the logo would have been very inserting. I have not reviews the super sea Wolf yet and as I have two I should probably get to it at some point! And apparently watchgecko do no longer make that exact bracelet. They now only offer one for around 200 on a similar style which I think is a little much. www.watchgecko.com/staib-2792-german-mesh-medium

Unfortunately don’t have it anymore got to sell through watches to buy more to review! It’s a great watch but there are some alternatives from sinn, damasko, or even Traska which may fit the bill too.

But is this a typical field watch that i can wear as an alternative to other field watches without worrying about damage? Hamilton Field Mechanical has been great to me. But i want to try something else that holds up well against shock and general damage.

I would say if you haven’t had any problems with the regular mechanical this one shouldn’t be too different. The benefit too is it’s slightly smaller and sits better on the wrist so it’ll stay out of the way of potential damage easier.

I have considered their V2-92 Aeronavale. It's quite a good looking piece. Unfortunately I can't find anyone in my country 😔

The bezel really is a nice addition to the watch but I personally don’t like the bump up to a 41mm case. Hopefully you’ll find one in the not too distant future!

@@theknightswatch I agree on the size. That's why I don't want to make the decision without seeing it in person. B&R is a bit niche in my country and V2-92 isn't a popular model, so I don't expect any change until this pandemic ends.

Agreed would be so much cleaner without the date but apparently watches with dates usually outsell no dates.

I struggle with this brand because it’s so overpriced for basic movements and finishing from a brand with no heritage. Don’t like that date positioning here either
