Oh my, he almost bought himself that #1 engine by not having the twist grips at cutoff and was chasing that MGT. That was not a graceful start.

Yes, I do get that. But I see videos of modern aircraft and Thay have even more gauges and switches.

It's so cool but I'm always confused the more advanced the aircraft becomes the more and more gauges and switches there are. does this mean in the future it will be entirely covered with gauges and switch's as we advance in technology? If we make cars more advanced, will we have hundreds of gauges and switches and a prestart routine?

Remember... this is mid 80's Technology at work here. As with many older aircraft, one can upgrade Gauges and such, but today's new helicopters like the 429 have Glass touchscreens and computer controlled Fuel mixtures that make it much easier to start. Still have to pilot the thing, though! 😁🚁

Is this the Bell 222a or B? The one with retractable wheel landing gears or bars? Thanks for video

Hi Corey, we only used 222 helicopters with skids, due to the need for extra fuel.

Hi Corey, it is the UT with fixed landing gear to give us greater range with tanks in the sponsors.

@@aviationstationmedia Hi. Nice video. Any indicator lights to confirm all 3 wheels are down and locked in the retractable gear configuration?

@@rangerfontana591 There are however this is the Bell 222UT which has skids and not retractable landing gear, so there are no indicator light or gear lever because it doesn't requite them.
Pilot should be paying more attention to what is outside than playing with the equipment.

Yeah that's a pretty poor show given the altitude.

Great helicopter, but I wouldn't fly with this guy. He spends way too much time f'ing with that GPS and ipad and not paying attention to what's outside. I realize they're on the coast, but there could be something coming at them from the side.
