Fikri, you should go to San Francisco for a vacation. It's easy to find halal food there plus jalan2 with the Kumaar Family. How was the trip back to the US? is it a direct flight or transit? What was the procedure?

Kumaar Family stay in Malaysia is awesome. Their Facebook page reported they are back to US already. Their stay in Malaysia miss out one major event, Chinese New Year. If they stay a little longer, they will observe, learn and brave themselves with some Malaysian Chinese cultures like lion dances, firecrackers, lantern decors, red packets and CNY foods like Yee Sang, CNY kuih known as 'ling koh'.

Rachel memang sempoi. And to answer why Malaysians are so obsessed with their food I think because originally malaysians all came from very humble beginnings. Everyone came from villages and lower income families. Hence food is a luxury. When people come and visit, you have nothing to offer but food. Food is the way how we show our guests that we appreciate them. and over time that culture has been passed down from generation to generation and hence why Malaysians are obsessed with food! At least that's what I think. :)

No wonder Fikry never try budu, he's from Kedah. I'm from the northern part also. I tried budu when I'm almost 20 years old, the same time I tried nasi kerabu which is now my favourite food.

Why Malaysians appreciate their foods is because our foods here are full of various flavors. We use alot of spices and various cooking methods. In the US, they may think our cooking styles are so complicated but hey, that gives the flavor. There are also alot of choices of food to choose until it's so hard to choose.

Only malaysian can use the word bowl for swearing. For example, HEY MANGKUK! AHAHAHA IM SO PROUD BORN MALAYSIAN

He is right at one thing though, though I have never been to San Francisco, but from the footage Logesh recorded during his day trip with Rachel for work, it looks like the very modern side of Penang, with the office buildings looking a little like Phileo Damansara area.

Ayam belanda also confused where they are from 😂🥴 btw its okay but here we have 2 kumaar or 2 fikry but both are Malaysian 😂. Why Malaysia obsessed with our food because food is in our blood. The taste of malaysian food hard to find over the world. It's also the part of our culture since when we want to say "hi" to someone we said "sudah makan" means are you already eat? 😂

I heard from somewhere bout "ayam belanda".not sure how true it is.The Dutch are actually the 1st westener that "visit" our land.So they brought along the Turkey.Hence the name Ayam Belanda is referring to those chicken brought in by the Dutch "visitor". But I think there is some logic in it.

It was after the treaty that Dutch fully moved to Indo area & English move to Msia.So as to avoid fighting among themselves & concerntrate on us. U can see even today some old Dutch Building in Malaysia. British "visit" us the longest.But the Dutch came earlier.The 1st being the Portuguese in 1511... We being visited by numerous "visitors" before.. The only Turkey that are capable of coloniazation is the Ottoman Empire.Sadly they being brought down by Kamal Attartuk.They are still one of world power during 1st World War..

Rachael reminds me of my College teacher, Mrs O'Neil. Very similar looking face wise back in 1984. Kumar, you must be the first and only Indian Malaysian to find a white girl who is prepared to learn another language like Bahasa Melayu. That is very rare. I am happy for Rachel and you in that sense. Home is always Malaysia where your grassroots started. I love Malaysia. It has harmony and togetherness with people, let alone food. Although there are some pigs and anti-social people in the Malaysian community, just be careful of them. it would be none other than jealousy about you. i can say malaysia is food heaven.. we have everything here indian, chinese, western (our style) , japan and of course malay food ... with many style based on places or state ... every state has unique signature dish and history .. 1 of my fav is masak lemak cili api you must try it, for your info this is signature dish from Negeri Sembilan... but so spicy careful with that ..
