I’m so happy Beirske is unhurt after the incredible accident at Spa. Even more heart warming is hearing her move on and speak optimistically about the races to come. Likely it’s cultural difference, but as an American, Beitske’s manner has been the most difficult for me to relate to of the W-Series drivers. The humility and optimism she exuded in this interview is something I can emphasize with and grab on to. Thank you.

As a European who speaks English as a foreign language, I am of course better at English than you are as an American, so please allow me to correct you. “Emphasize” is definitely the wrong word here. It’s either “sympathize” or “empathize”, and from the context I’m guessing that you meant to use the latter one.

Great to see the safety tech these days is really saving lives! I really hope they put a huge concave up gravel run off area in between Raidillon and Kemmel when they are over there doing the upgrades. So many folks could have bought it there this weekend but all were lucky!

@@SushiBandit28 there is a camera angle called “driver’s eye” view. It’s a tiny camera mounted inside the helmet visor. Obviously, this is not that view and therefore a misleading title. Not mention it doesn’t even show the crash, just the spin before the crash.

@@apexkilla where does it say that’s the camera being referenced? Driver’s Eye can be construed differently and not just in technical terms or motorsport nomenclature. Obviously, you didn’t take that into account. Btw, the crash is there, idk what you’re watching.

She didn't brake because she didn't see what was going on at the top of the hill. As soon as she saw the car in front spin, she probably tried to not spin as well, which made her go to the inside of the corner. Only after she saw what was at the top, she begun to brake even locking the brakes at the end. It is easy to assume from a higher seat, but if you actually get inside their head and vision, then you realize it is not that simple.

Braking would likely end up with a lockup, and even less control at high speed on a slippery track surface is not what you want
