Beirut Holiday Inn - April 6, 2000
A short visit to the destroyed Holiday Inn Beirut, in St-Charles center, on April 6, 2000. My friend Gaby Gemayel is accompanying me, as well as a veteran from the Kataeb who witnessed the fighting in and around the hotel in 1975-76. Also in the film, views of the Beirut central district under reconstruction, Hotel Hilton, Starco Center (with Planet Hollywood) and Phoenicia Hotel.

Dear Georges Boustany this is such a great footage and documentary of the HIH battle. Thank you Gaby for your guided insights. I am writing a novel about the battle itself, and would love to talk to anyone who was in the battle for more details please. Can anyone message me any leads please ? I was born and raised in BEirut and I was 11 years young when the battle started... Shoukran salaf!

Hello Georges, why didn't you go up to the roof of the hotel to film? In 2014 i infiltrated the basement there and strolled down there in total darkness for almost 2 hours trying to find a way to the top but unfortunately every door that could lead up to the roof was closed, couldn't enter the main gate cos i knew that the army was there and it's forbidden to enter there, after 2 hours i got caught by moukhabarat l jech and they took me to question me.
