Being religious is for society, for the world; being spiritual is for oneself, for God!

Religion is based on sect of beliefs people follow. Spirituality is finding what your existence is. Religion is social. Spirituality is individual. Religion is about believing. Spirituality is about seeking. When you realize that you *do not know* your existence and this life that’s when you become spiritual. *Spirituality equals truth as authority. Religion equals authority as truth.*

Very well explained the difference between being religious and being spiritual. Both have their own importance in life. But spirituality is an elevated state. Everyone can't be spiritual but being religious and following the rituals prescribed in our scriptures is an easy task .swami ji you are great. No words to commend you. 🙏🙏

Good definition. We often think that a religious person is a spiritual person. But it is not. One can become a spiritual person without being religious.

I have been following a lot of spiritual and religious channels on KZread. I have a great respect towards them. Today I first Time get to be in touch with one of your videos, and I couldn't stop myself to watch the entire playlist of yours.all these days I was looking for someone who has the best degrees in the world, a very successful educational background and yet he has chosen to be on spiritual path in the young age, achieved the same knowledge in spirituality and dedicated his life to spread his knowledge with others. Swamiji is great. I am fan of him..in today's age he is the best... Apart from that...Sri Aurobindo was also highly successful in career. Studied in London for 14 years, graduated from Cambridge. Obtained all time record marks for Greek and Latin in Cambridge, Had mastered 10 languages, 5 indian, 5 western, had a 700 rs monthly job 120 years ago (that would be crores now!), was the most popular political leader for 5 years , still he left all and lived like a pauper whole life dedicated to spirituality.

The important thing is " True pure love Or devotion to god" Om namo bhagvate Vaasudevaya.

Thanks for this clarity, it helps with my journey through life.

Swamiji in the most lovely setting -close to people!.. and sharing the depths of wisdom! (We are so blessed to have these real experiences!!) It’s wonderful to hear about spirituality as the journey of self unfoldment. It’s so good to hear that this is what’s important -not what’s showing to others but what it inside. Developing love for God, truly, within and not empty rituals ...regardless the terms or the ‘correctness’ of how it looks.

Every religion has two aspects-one is its cultural setting, its traditions, customs, rituals and practices. These are all religious aspect. Other is its very life, which is love for God, purification of the mind, cultivation and application of ethical values.. very nicely explained by Swamiji

So in a way, being religious is just following a specific form of spirituality

I always hear these two words religious and spiritual but never knew what is the different between this two. Swami Mukundananda Ji explains so well that if we do not love God from internally then it is not spiritual. I feel very fortunate that I know Swamiji, and He teaches me this very important point. Thank you Swami Mukundananda ji for clarifying the difference between being religious and spiritual. Now I understood the importance of religious practices and the ultimate goal of it. Otherwise I would have been really left them altogether. Nice to know that only religious practices will not impress God, with that we have to include spirituality from within.

What an amazing 'n profound explanation of difference in being religious 'n spiritual visiting a religious place is religiosity but to practice love for god is spirituality to decorate your innerself with ornament of good qualities is being spirituality to recite prayers in temple is religious to develop a prayerful heart is spirituality the role of religion is to make us spiritual but we get mired in endless rituals. So many examples that Swamiji provides to distinguish between spirituality and religiosity are beautifully explained as actions necessary to purify the heart and soul (internal) versus those that are done as part of karma-kand (external). In other words, it is the difference between experiencing sentiments of love toward God versus mechanistically practicing without the sentiments of love.

Swamiji explains with very good examples that the inner purification of our heart is of paramount importance, that is the meaning of being spiritual. The outer practice is simply mechanical and has no bearing on the true purpose of religions, which is to purify our inner self. Very enlightening video !

Religion and spirituality are inseparable . Religion without spirituality and spirituality without religion are both seriously deficient . They constitute the insides and outsides of what should be one thing .

Swamiji in this particular video has so clearly explained the difference between being spiritual and being religious. He has so aptly mentioned that very few people in this world are truly interested in spirituality whereas majority of people prefer to be merely religious.

Bearing and wearing beard , long hair, thilak, saffron dress is RELIGIOUS... Meditation is silent and religious practice towards spiritual aspirations...RELIGIOUS ppl have spiritual goals but practice and approaches are quite noisy.

concept of god and dharma where falls in spirituality. Why you all so so much afraid from god concept and putting that in spirituality. Goutam Budh was a real spiritual person and he never ever fall in god and dharma concept. Please don't make other fool.
