I totally agree. It’s cruising and Disney for us, especially while the kids are young. I can’t tell you what a relief it was to be in such good care when he became so desperately poorly x

We were on this cruise and heard the announcement. We were very emotional listening to the captain and we wanted to know how Henry was. Henry may have been in Surfers with my children. We just happened to look on here and saw your update. It sounds like P&O staff looked after you all very well. I can’t imagine your worry. Lots of love to you all xx

Ah yes he probably was! Henry absolutely loved Surfers, he was so upset leaving the ship, he’s desperate to get back to kids club 😫 hope you had a lovely cruise, thanks so much for watching and reaching out x

I just noticed that George from the Hotel team helped you out, and she was incredibly helpful to me as well. I contracted covid onboard two days before the end of the cruise and I was told that automatically meant I would be last to disembark, with no exceptions. Trouble was that I'm a sole carer back home for someone with complex needs and all of my arrangements for cover were based on me leaving the ship early and couldn't be changed. George managed to cut through all of the rules and regs and got me disembarked early via the crew gangway which saved the day - she's a real asset to P&O.

Oh George is wonderful isn’t she. She arranged for 2 members of kids club to come down with toys for the baby to play with, they also stayed with him so we could be with Henry while Jack had lunch and napped. I’m so glad you had a great experience with her too x

So sorry to hear this. You must have been so stressed and worried whilst on board waiting to get to hospital. I hope your son is alright. I love how much you thank and appreciate the crew. Good luck 🤞🏼 💙🙏🏻

We’re indeed home now, I asked Henry tonight if he was feeling ok about everything, he said “I’m just happy now I can go to school” 😭 he’s been so brave bless him. Thank you guys, means a lot 🥹

I had a medical issue on my first cruise earlier this year and P&O went above and beyond to make the best of it.

I hope so too! We can’t wait to get back onboard, Henry is desperate to get back to kids club, we also didn’t get to meet Shaun The Sheep and it’s all he watched on the TV in the cabin so he was so sad about that bless him. Thanks for your kind words ❤️

About 15 years ago on my first cruise I had seasickness and ended up in the infirmary and I was treated fantastically, the infusions, injections and then tablets worked amazingly, it took me 12 months to go back on a ship but now with a prescription of the same tablets the ship gave me we have at least 1 cruise a year (3 this year). Then I had a different medical emergency 4 years ago on a P&O ship whilst on our way back to Southampton, we docked at 6am and they had me in the Hospital within an hour, absolutely excellent service. I feel comfortable knowing that if any of us were unwell we are well cared for. I’m sorry you had a medical emergency but I’m sure you could not have had better care. For everyone else, please don’t moan when the crew are practicing their emergency drills and it causes a minor inconvenience , because these emergencies are practiced so often everything runs like clockwork when the real emergencies occur. What was wrong with him he had to be medically disembarked

just to get an impression of what the onboard medical facility is capable of handling, what illness did henry suffer from?

He was hypoglycaemic and bradycardic. He was pretty much unresponsive for about 2 hours, he was hooked up to drinks and machines. Once we was awake, they sedated him to insert a catheter into his neck for more specified medicine. They were incredible.

They ran their own blood work, the results were back within 20 mins, they have intensive care wards down there, it’s an amazing facility.
