Boris, I moved to Switzerland 5 years ago as a student and for the first year, I only ate according to your recipes. It is what saved me! I see you could use a bit more practice on how to survive here though. In Zurich there is actually the nicest looking LIDL, with Ferraris and Porsches on the parking (next to Bahnhofstrasse). Now that I work here and earn a Swiss salary, I can tell you that I get to eat real meat everyday... because I buy it in France once a month!! Coming back with 5 kilos of meat for half the price is much fun. But, glad you enjoyed your visit :)

I'm swiss and i had to laugh so many times. Thank you very much for your honest point of view. Your critics are accurat - and to be honest, we feel annoyed of most of that stuff too. As a foreigner, you fell into many traps though. We were born here and had to learn how to avoid it. (No taxi rides, use public transport with half fare card or swiss travel pass. Avoid cheese overdoses, bring your heavy duty plastic bag to the grocery instead of buying paper bags. And avoid restaurants, book a hotel with breakfast buffet included and eat like theres no lunch. Always carry your bottle of water. Free refill at the restrooms. Avoid paid restrooms, get a coffee at a restaurant instead and use the "free" restroom there. You'll get more value out for your money. Groceries: coop is, like migros, a mid-priced market. (Globus and manor are even more expensive). If you're on a tight budget, check aldi and lidl. Sadly, after visiting only zürich and üetliberg, you havent even seen anything of switzerland so far... Btw, your german skills are amazing. You found the right amount of anger for your pronounciation.
