I am roleplaying an important moment for my character, like a wedding, and here comes Kevin with his wild magic sorcerer, casting like, noxious cloud to make everyone puke for some reason, roll wild magic, roll a 7, explode by mistake in the middle of the wedding hall killing my in laws and sending my bride on a quest of vengeance by swearing a oath and becoming a paladin. Actually that sounds awesome.

The fact he's missed 3 companions and I'm pretty sure ruined the chance for another one of them will be very funny I feel

I love how within minutes of reaching the first settlement, Carl has managed to antagonize everyone by murdering their lifestock, robbing a little street urchin, harassing the other children, stealing the sacred idol of the Druids and starting a race war, supporting the murder of a little girl, attempting to steal sacred texts and finally being locked up for his crimes only to break out of prison. And still he talks his way out of it. Kevin would be a DM's worst nightmare at a DnD table. He is lucky this game has a reload function XD

I am BEGGING for a full playthrough. Make this a series PLEASE.

I don't think this is someone with no knowledge of dnd... I think it's someone with no eyes. You get a big 'level up' when it happens, its written multiple times on your screen... just goes ignored.

Played so chaotically that he lowkey did things I didn't think you could do in act 1

Watching Kevin just faceplant through this whole thing and then somehow uncover the Shadow Druids by mistake was just... fascinating...

Finally a game where Kevin can play as a literal demon.

this isn’t meant to be disrespectful I just wanted to talk about this Demons and devils are entirely different species, and tieflings are debatably not devils, and most certainly not demons. Demons are chaotic, devils are lawful, and both are evil, but tieflings can be anything as their infernal heritage doesn’t affect their alignment. Also I find it funny that Kevin’s character is quite similar to an NPC my uncle made for a family campaign, except my uncle’s character is secretly a cambion who can, will, and probably has attacked everyone he’s ever seen. Except his father, for some reason. Their dynamic is kind of entertaining to be honest, just a tired lawful neutral middle-aged drow in the middle of a decades-long custody dispute and an evil bard who forgot how to tie his shoelaces and has probably burnt down parts of the nearby city… the secret keeping is on a whole new level with them. “Hey I gotta tell ya, I have murdered a person. Multiple actually.” “Considering you’re a cambion , makes sense.” “IM SORRY IM A W-“ Family gatherings are hell for them. Literally. The cambion adopted two fiends as his brothers and it escalated quickly. Also Lolth got involved and the drow is still scared of her. That campaign is a mess.

Its the other way around, evil people can afford to be evil because they have friends (usually the powerful kind). See how Jim Pickens consistently manages to get out of sitatuations that should send him to jail for life, without any consequences, thanks to his share charisma alone. Theres only so much evil you can do without friends, Kevin is an expert on this matter.

Kevin is a DnD genius, the way he uses the wisdom character AND the dexterity character to cast fire cantrips that are based on intelligence. It's also quite impressive how he managed to maneuver the map without picking up a fourth party member

This video was enlightening because I’ve never actually seen someone ignore shadowheart on the ship and I was curious what happens if you did.

My favorite part of this is that closed captioning is writing "Carol" whenever he says Carl and its just so right.

The hardest part of this video is watching Kevin get annihilated while each of his characters have a glowing level up symbol on their profile pictures.

seeing how good this game is, a bit of "kevin" added to the mix should make it even better

22:20 looks like he found the tiefling hostility glitch. If Mol tells on you, they immediately go into combat after talking with the guard, regardless of if you succeed or not.

As a dnd player I can confirm this exactly how chaotic an actual dnd game is

Kevin likes to pretend he's bad at video games, but stuff like this proves just how good he is. He managed to do so well without looking anything up. We knwo he didn't look anything up because he took a single long rest...

36:14 Ironically, letting Astarion drink a bit of your blood during "bite night" is actually the _best_ choice you can make in the long run to gain his approval and rock-hard loyalty. You get two opportunities to tell him to stop drinking, easy rolls, and he will stop. No need to stake him. The game also gives you two opportunities to _not_ do anything and let him drink you dry until you die.... then you only have yourself to blame. But don't worry, that's _not_ a game over, next morning you wake up groggy but alive. Either Astarion used a Revivify scroll on your or Withers brought you back, as Bite Night only happens once Withers is in your camp and is usually triggered by finding the drained dead boar with vampire bite marks on the road to the Blighted Village and then resting at camp. (If you never meet Withers the Lich at the Dank Crypt, he'l just wander into your camp like a stray cat soon after, because he is incredibly important as a camp follower as he can raise dead companions. If your approval rating with Astarion is high before Bite Night is triggered, he can also decide to "come out" to the entire grop in the middle of the day and admit, hey folks I'm kinda sorta, how do I put this... _a vampire!_ (teheh!) It's such a hilarious speech.

Also, you should've talked to Astarion in the morning after he tries to bite you to get more info on how he is a vampire spawn. But yeah, telling him to get lost during bite night, or asking him to only feed on animals (which is what his abusive vampire master has done, only allowing him rats and bugs) will not make him happy.

I have no idea how these triggers work, but on my third playthrough, Astarion just decided to tell us he was a vampire spawn after we killed Dror Ragzlin in the goblin camp. I didn't get any build-up for that one. In my second playthrough, I watched him sneak out of camp, found the drained boar, and then he tried to bite me. Not sure if I just didn't long rest enough in my third game or what.

Honestly, It's actually quite nice to see Kevin be playing a good character for once. As a DnD player he is not nearly as bad as he could have been!

"Consider that a divorce" is a stroke of editing genius.

The "Dark Urge" character has a serial killer story line and you can still customize them. I think that would suit you a lot. It has tons of rich story and cinematics, and honestly it's super screwed up too. Reminds me of Jim Pickens.

I'm surprised Kevin did not pick Dark Urge. It's not an Origin Character but a Background, it will allow you to be an absolute psycho. For example! When Gale is reaching out his hand (from the swirly purple portal that Kev ignore), a Dark Urge player can fantasies about cutting off his hand...and turns out, you did! And now you got Gale's Severed Hand in your inventory.

I couldn't do an evil playthrough, but I know you can, Kevin! I'm counting on you!

"Did you have to smash it with your boot? You couldn't just make it quick and stab it or something?" **BEING EVIL AS POSSIBLE**

This is quite an accurate Bard roleplay. DM: "ok, the Fighter attacked and the Wizard casted Fireball. Bard, what are you doing?" Bard, playing the lute: "THERE GOES MY HERO!🎶"

Kevin waiting so long to level up his characters is frustrating 😂 And I never even knew about the shadow druids storyline! That's crazy how big this game is! PLEASE continue this game, even if it's like Fable and you only play once a year!

@@molybdaen11 Haven't seen it done in practice, and I'm not sure how that looks (I think one side would still have to 'win', and what if your friend is elsewhere at the time you raid the grove or whatever). But from what I understand, conceptually that's the case.

I got a natural 20 at the swamp entrance check and was VERY confused why there were a bunch of goblins running around going "baaaaah".

Kevin REALLY needs to find a DND campaign to join, just once lol - also, leave ti to Kevin to show us EVERY outcome we've never seen lol

Trust me all he would have to do is just put a message into the universe. As a dm I know anyone would jump to have him😢 I’m about to start a chaotic game and I just pray we can be have as chaotic as him

God I remember when he joined that one like army roleplay server thing it was glorious.

That disguise self trick is genius, yet simple and makes absolute sense, how didn't i think of that

Seeing Astarion just hanging out slightly behind Carl, just watching scilently as that bard goes on to do the most insane shit... Yeah, that's in character I think.

Carl is probably one of the most normal looking characters you’ve created, and that knowledge scares me a little. Lol

I love the voice overs, they really add depth to the character, so we really FEEL what Carl is going through.

As a dnd lover, there's something incredibly fun and endearing about watching a newbie discover its weird ass mechanics for the first time in Balders Gate- reminds me of playing for the first time. Also I love how well the chaotic energy Kevin exudes goes with the game; I hope theres more videos like this! (Also incredible that Kevin, a natural born bard, actually picked that class!)

When Kevin said “I have one loose end to tie up” I yelled out “THE SHEEP!” Lmao

Get the animal talking perk if you don't have it! It's hilarious and opens hours of conversations 😂

I’m loving BG3 and I’m loving all the content coming out of it because it’s so open ended. Kevin’s playthrough is my favorite by far. Only Kevin could screw this game up so badly. Military genius

I legitimately never knew you could walk around the "Sunlit Wetlands" like this. The devs really thought of everything. I love it.

I really hope Kevin continues this as a series - there is so much more evil - I mean, sensible decisions Carl can make in the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. Will we see Shadowheart again? Will Astarion be Carl’s only friend? Who knows…?

In the past when Kevin had complete freedom to do what he wanted, it ended very badly for everyone involved

It's so interesting watching other people play BG3, I've been through this part 3 times already and I'm still learning heaps of new stuff watching Kev play

I've been playing since EA started, with at least 4 characters that have gone through almost all of the Act 1 content, and probably upwards of 15 characters that have gone through the grove at least, and I see and hear about new outcomes in the game during that act. Ever tried murdering Shadowheart at the beach, reviving her, and killing her again? Or casting speak with dead on a dead companion? Ever left the companions alone and seen what happens? There's so much that can be done. Utterly insane

The fact that he found *none* of the other companions (or at least none on screen I could see in camp) is absolutely sending me 😂

The "consider that a divorce" part really got me 🤣

I decided to be evil on my first playthrough because I can never manage to do it (I feel bad for being mean to digital characters), and boy oh boy did some of the evil things give me ptsd. Love that Kevin has been enjoying the game as well! The game is long as hell but hopefully there might be a full playthrough someday!

I really relate to this. I don't personally enjoy doing true evil runs of games but I am really interested in the different ways of accomplishing the same goal and what kind of evil stuff it's possible to do in games like this, which is one of the reasons why I like watching Kev. He thinks of stuff I doubt I ever would even if I tried. 😂

I am absolutely shocked that he didn't pick the dark urge. But this is still funny. Poor Astarion can't get a break in Kevins run. xD I really hope he makes more baldur's gate videos.

I forgot to comment this earlier but I really hope Kevin plays this again, there are so many funny and evil interactions in this game, Carl is also a really funny character, this video is one of my new favourites.

After watching this, I so badly wanna see Kevin & the Irish Lads do a D&D one shot

I want an entire series of Kecin playing this game! It allows you to be legitimately evil in ways I haven't seen in other games and I wanna know how far Kevin will take it!

The beauty of D&D is you can try to do literally anything. Punch a guard, piss on a king while he gives a speech to thousands, ignore the main quest and start a fast food chain empire instead. The best sessions are almost always the result of chaos

Now we just need Kevin playing actual talbetop DnD

I like how Kevin’s complaining about his party member missing a point blank shot with his bow, because in D&D those shots would be with disadvantage so it makes sense

Downloading a bunch of Kevin videos (including this one) for a very long flight in a few hours so thank you in advance Kev for keeping me entertained through that haha
