Being a Woman for God | Jackie Hill Perry | The Happy Hour With Jamie Ivey

Ойын-сауық

The Happy Hour With Jamie Ivey: As a woman, have you ever felt insecure about learning or teaching scripture? Is it because of the lack of experience? Maybe because of the lack of discipleship or opportunity? On today’s episode Jackie and I dive into some of the reasons women may feel insecure about learning and sharing scripture. Jackie encourages us to be reminded that we have the holy spirit living inside of us, therefore have been given the capacity through Christ’s power to understand His divine word!Jackie Hill Perry is an author, bible teacher, and hip-hop artist. Since becoming a Christian, she has been compelled to use her speaking and teaching gifts to share the light of the gospel of God as authentically as she can. She is the author of Gay Girl, Good God: The Story of Who I Was, and Who God Has Always Been, Holier Than Thou, and Upon Waking Devotional. At home, she is a wife to Preston and Mommy to Eden, Autumn, Sage, and August.

"If obedience cost Jesus Christ His life, then surely it's gonna cost you something in life",.. it's so easy to Judge Jonah but, obedience and submission to God isn't easy. The cost of dying to self in a word that promotes comfort in all it's forms is easier said than done. But, May the Lord God give us the grace to be obedient to him, no matter the cost.

I love your humility Jackie Hill Perry, to say you’d be willing to say no to some the engagements, but being careful as you move in the name of God. That’s huge, the cost and the fact that it weighs on you. I pray God works in you and both to will of his good pleasure in your life. Stay humble that’s how God exhausts us.

Understand but it is critical to be mindful of advice given during those time. She told her husband to curse God and die. She was speaking out of her emotions of the pain of losing every thing. Remember Satan said to God if you take the hedge of protection from around him he can make Job curse God. What did Job's wife say curse God and die. That was the spirit of Satan speaking through Job's wife. I do agree about grace need to be given because she suffered too.

@@josettewebster4844 Emotions are real however but real. She has lost a lot and perhaps angry at God. I am not saying she was correct but just to understand that she is hurting. Wrong perhaps, but hurting still. If we could truly put ourself in her place, I believe it would not be as easy to take a “I would never” say such a thing. And it is the grace aspect as you and I said, I am going for. I am sure when/if she asked God for forgiveness, He put it in the sea of forgetfulness.

Well I will say this, no amount of prosperity is worth what you already have. Your crown in heaven will be larger than the richest person alive today. Faithfulness to Jesus Christ is the end all be all and from where I sit I see faithfulness every time I hear you speak. Not because I know you, but because you are someone that the Holy Spirit encamps and all who really belong to God can see Him in the way you express your love for Him. My grandmother lived to be 107. She wasn’t a wealthy person but she had a relationship with the Father like no one I’ve ever known. God provided for her up until her last day. She never went to a nursing home, was always clean, fresh and fed by her daughter and others that would help. But that was God’s promise to her. If we live for him no matter how much money we don’t have it will not matter cause He will provide every need we will ever have. So keep doing what you do and know if He has to send the Ravens to feed you, you will never be hungry. I pray for these teachers that are preaching a false doctrine because so many ppl are hurt by these msg’s. God bless you Jackie and thank you too!

This is not to be contentious, it is because I'm genuinely questioning and seeking to think about it. Why is there an expectation to say thank you when someone gives a compliment? Again, I'm not making any statements about it. That is just a question that is come up for me lately. Is it because we need validation that our compliment was received? Like genuinely wondering.
