Thanks for sharing this perspective, though I am not a "technical" person, I understand and appreciate the sentiments.

This is by far the most descriptive information about this role, thank you so much! As someone with a technical background who has always done information coalescing, storytelling, and impact analysis, your video clearly shows how all of these skills come together in the PM role at Microsoft. Thanks again!

Hi Michael , this was a very crisp and clear Program Manager explanation i have seen thus far online. A short descrip of myself is i have been a Program Manager for awhile now with a Technological Company ( Building Engineering) which actually partners with Microsoft. I am from Singapore and work with most countries here in Asia Pacific to help my company in their Strategic Accounts though my company is from USA. I can honestly relate to all your experiences both from you personally and the 2 Team Members of yours in your sharings about Customer centricity, Features Development and Personal Traits to succeed as a Program Manager. However as of February this year , i have taken a short break for a couple of Months and will be wanting to join back the workforce and continue on as a Program Manager in 1st week of Dec 2022 . Instead of re-joining back my company however, i am intending to join Microsoft . Perhaps in November 2022 1st week, i will contact you through your email and drop you more details about myself and you can then see if i'm a good fit for your Team and help Microsoft in Asia Pacific. ( ** Honestly i really think i will be a great fit but i will allow you instead to make that call**) .Kudos again for this great video!

This is a really nice video! Product/Program Manager's definition varies a lot from company to company. Thanks a lot, Matthew, to explain the responsibility along with the release cycle, so the thorough picture for the program manager in Microsoft is crystal-clear! The later part of interviewing peers is also really insightful! Thanks a lot!

I am prepping for a Program Manager job in a tech company for the first time and REALLY appreciate how much insight you gave in this video. It has helped me immensely in how to package my current background and skill set to answer questions effectively and has also shown me a few gaps I need to work on on the tech side. Thank you for putting the time and effort to share this!

Thanks a million! This is so informative. It’s very hard to find a good video that explains lots of details about the TPM role. I’m joining the Leap program as TPM, your video helped me a lot to understand lots of details and aspects of the role and what to expect. Thank you and your guests. Appreciate it 🙏

This is really interesting. I work at a large tech organisation and the role you’re describing very much fits my role as a product manager. Understand problem/opportunity from a quant and qual perspective, create personas, assumptions and hypothesis, research and develop feature concepts to have an impact on largest opportunities and then work with the developers to build and experiment on the features.

The program manager is different from the product manager. What is missing in that triangle is the importance of the UX. When you buy a car or a house, you care more about how it looks and the usability rather than how much concrete and metal structure was put on. That's the difference between an Architect and an construction engineer. This is where Microsoft is missing to compete with 21st-century companies.
