Hi there. Is it possible to send pink noise to the main outputs of the X32, connect a measurement mic to one of the mic inputs and use the RTA on that input? Then use the graphic EQ on the master outs to do room correction etc?

Drew, much thanks for your videos, we use them as tutorials for our church audio staff. We were wondering when you do get feedback, the best way to isolate where the feedback is coming from? We thought the RTA was the answer but, as I understand it, you have to be on the right channel already to see the offending frequency, which caused us to wonder about finding offending channels. Thanks much.

From my experience of 10 years using X32 @ church ...this tool has not been provided on all digiboards... But is something that would make life easy for newbies. From my experience .... 1st eliminate feedback by pulling back on main n all auxs n back to a level that does not produce feedback.... (Feedback are caused by wrongful handling of mics, so check if a singer is not directly pointing mics towards FOH or monitors .... ) If it's not d likely source then 2nd go to meters to guess the likely source / channels ...WHICH ARE USUALLY MICROPHONE & PROBABLY ACOUSTIC GUITAR PICK UP SOURCES .... 3. go to ur suspicious tracks/ channel n engage the spectrograph to find the offending freq - which are usually red in colour 4. Use unused parametric EQ to notch / reduce that red offending freq till it's no longer red 5. If u have used up all 4 channel parametric EQ ...look for the closest n adjust so that the curve comes closer to the the point or on d point where the offending frequency is NOTE....From the meters ...any channel who's preamp level goes beyond the green - to yellow n especially to red, is likely to contribute to the feedback ....so u press n study d meters on the right side of the screen ....then u guess those likely sources .... Having done all above to bring feedback under control ...check placement of FOH n monitors and proximity of naked mics to same ...e.g if a singer is standing in front of speakers or monitors....or if FOH are not placed/ angeled well u take steps to address dt. Finally, feedback may be as a result of poor ringing of channels n entire mixer ...so u check ur auxs ...also using spectrograph n remove red offending frequencies n do same on d overall LR EQ (Be careful with overall EQ - just slightly pls). But I agree ...this function will be an important resource on a digi board for newBs. Am sure the brand that adds this feedback detection functionality can get lion share of market. I know it's been experimented in QSC digiboards and it's a function on dbx drive racks

I'm trying to decide between the QU-24 and the Behringer X32, my main question is since I will be mainly using this for production studio purposes is that will the motorized faders react to the automations parameters in the DAW as it would if it were on the console - I haven't seen a video yet that demonstrates this.

rdguitar I saw on the Apple store thing that there is a 3rd party X32 RTA type app for sale for $9. or somesuch, FYI. Btw, e'erybody says the Android X32 remote app is much better than the iPad app. I think some outside person from Europe wrote the Android app and contributed it to the world for free in the Free Open Source Software FOSS tradition. i.e. dump the iPad and use Android, the way it is supposed to be.
