FAIR USE
“FAIR USE” is a copyright principle based on the belief that
the public is entitled to freely use portions of copyrighted
material for certain purposes, such as nonprofit
educational programs.
The principal recognizes that society can often benefit from
the unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, when the use
furthers scholarship and education or informs the public.
This promo was created for a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
and it was not intended for any lucrative purposes. It was produced

of Broadway Theatre.
Thank you for everyone’s efforts
and thank you for the performers and everyone who contributed to our efforts.
A Big Thank You to all the creative contributors, the outstanding footage shared
in this promo and for being a part of such a worthy cause.
“Fair use” is a defense against a claim of copyright infringement.
“Fair use” is infringement ( i.e. an unauthorized use of the copyrighted work ),
But it is a form of infringement that courts excuse due to its greater social benefit.
If a copyright owner challenges someone’s infringement use of the work in court and the court determines that they use is fair use than the infringer will not face any legal consequences.
