This is genuinely good content. The military has a publicised recruitment crisis currently. Will never understand why more units aren't producing things like this instead of the dreadful mainstream adverts.

An obvious point, but one that isn't so obvious in today's hyper-real atmosphere. I really feel things watching content like this - I can relate to being in that pack of runners and feeling like I'm about to spew. An over-produced advert showing a teenage girl mincing around a simulated training area looks completely lame by comparison

I'm English born of foreign parentage and I've always despised and argued against the tribal in-fighting that exists amongst the constituents of the British Isles. We're a fantastic People and together, we can be a phenomenal power for good in the world. Come on Britain, let's really set an example.

Hi, so the weight is 20kg distributed in webbing & daysack. Then rifle on top of that. No it’s not for the Ranger Battalion. It’s for the Royal Irish Regiment who hold the rank of Rangers from a regimental history reason. It comes from the Royal Irish Rangers.

I worked with a lad called boily in Afghanistan ex legion lad nice switched on solider from royal Irish rangers. Can you do a vid on the annual basic fitness tests for infantry and for other ranks and what top marks are helpful for your viewers to know what's top marks to train for. Great video

As a former JNCO in an infantry Bn. Lads need to be fit to fight at the end of a loaded march, not completely chin strapped. Hence a March & shoot is a good test of that ability.

Train in approach. Serving in 16 Brigade alongside the Parachute Regiment and Gurkha's, two units which train their own recruits in Basic training. So they can invest at the very start, with the Parachute regiment also having P company as a course to further train their recruits. Royal Irish recruits (Rangers) don't have this and are spread across the rest of the line Infantry, during basic training. The Ranger Cadre is designed to train in and tie up any training deficiencies and prepare the guys for service in 16 Brigade.

Exactly the reason I took this approach with the project. To remain completely transparent. How all we are on camera is no different to when its off. Point to note, there will be some shouting on the final episode for our final session. It's the only way to effectively mimic the stress of operations in a safe environment. However zero BS or Sillyness on course.

Happy to explain when people ask to sort out any confusion. The Rank of Ranger was given to all private soldiers in the Royal Irish Regiment to honour the heritage of all Rangers who served in the Royal Irish Rangers.
