It's very disappointing reading many of these positive comments. Sometimes there are more important messages to send other than the inspiration of a talented sports figure. This American supported and trained young woman has agreed to represent a country that is genociding the Weigers and is notorious for slave labor and organ harvesting of political prisoners. It has been responsible for allowing the plague to disrupt and bring death and massive political uproar throughout the world. This talented American raised woman should not be celebrated as as an inspiration!!! It is just dumbing society down to shallow values of corporate profit seeking and talent alone with no regard to things that are more important to consider. Such as morality that effects the whole world. At the very least this woman and her success should be ignored by decent people and then her reward for turning her back on America and skiing for China will be total failure in the profit seeking reason she did this in the first place. She should not recieve these rewards. I understand not wanting to publicly shame and social media attack this young woman, but the very least that should be done is ignore her. Corporations in America that sponsor her should pay the price. Let them know your disgust at uplifting such a bad example of morality reflected in her totally awful decision to ski for China instead of America. She obviously does not consider any morality, only money in making her decision.

Well said sir, I am a Chinese, born and raised. China is not only committing genocide against the minorities, it killed so many of the so called Han people, too. My great grand parents and grand father were all killed by the current ruling party, along with 100 million others. The fact that Gu is receiving so much support out here on youtube from mainly chinese makes me sad and a little angry. but again a lot of them are paid, so how many really support her, i'm not sure.

Just like many Americans n British ...they were so surprise that China is so Safe, Beautiful places, and so Advance., So much of Freedom and people are so happy & Friendly, no Racism or Killings. They even Video it to Show all the beautiful places in the many cities and the Happy Chinese peoples. They were even saying that they will not find it in the US or in Britian. So much of Freedom and so Safe to walk very late at night in the cities without any problems. Even the policemen were so friendly.

I've lived in this regime for most of my life, in a so called big city, but as soon as you leave the very center the streets look like they've just been through a major battle. lifted out of poverty my moon bright ass, respectfully.

Do you also blame The Royal British Family for their colonial past the monarchy still exists that represents their past atrocities. The leaders of the cultural revolution already do not exist anymore, and modern day CCP is nowhere like those as before. people accuse mao of killing 50 milllion chinese. However that same CCP lifted 800 million people out of poverty, something the west wasn't able to do in Africa, even with decades of aid and help, a good bargain as far as I am concerned.

Saying the leaders of cultural revolution is gone is very ignorant indeed, I don't see any change made to the corrupt and self serving core of the one party ruling system. Are we, at least me, I don't know about your citizenship status, allowed to chose who to govern us? Mao's head hangs high on the wall of Tian An Men, his mummified flesh still worshiped in that hall of his. The founders of the parties are all dead, but their grandchildren and in laws roam in the highest ranks of command. All of those western powers that waged wars, at least they didn't send their own soldiers out to die, unlike the CCP, who sent out millions without proper clothing or supplies to North Korea, to die; if they were to wage a war now, their soldiers would still be dead meat on a skewer. And respectfully, who said that any of the western powers have an obligation to lift Africa out of poverty? and if any, isn't our country more responsible, after the fact that the African 'brothers' are what enabled communist china to join the UN by majority votes? @@falcoperegrinus2520 Paying tribute to Mao is justifiable because he brought revolution against feudalism and imperialism. Communism or Socialism had a bad start, but modern day CCP have proven that they do share the wealth and prosper with their people when they have the means to do so. I truly believe no other party or democracy could have done so with such a vast population of people, it would have been another Africa otherwise, with another decades of internal struggle and tribal wars. Also Mao own son died in the korean war, but for his people he invited Nixon in 1972 and shook his hands to create a better global relation, he swallowed his pride for his people, Mao should receive the nobel peace price for that, post mortum.
