Behind-the-scenes footage from traveling on horseback and rafts to remote filming locations deep in the Himalayan regions of Ladakh and Zanskar, during production of Steve Elkins' feature documentary ECHOES OF THE INVISIBLE. Various monasteries in Zanskar could only be reached by trekking for days through regions often cut off from the outside world due to impassable snow and ice. Filming in a restricted military zone on the border of Tibet required four years of persistent petitions to the Indian government and collaboration with the King of Ladakh. Several locations near the border of Pakistan required traveling on roads that were undergoing shelling attacks during filming. September - October 2016.
