I think it’s based off of the direction you come from as the defender, the type of tackle you use, the speed you are going at, and how the player hitbox contacts the opponent vs the ball.

That time when Fifa 19 was released Pes was more realistic and have better gameplay overall but this year 2021 Fifa really step up bring us a great game and on the other hand, Pes was bringing us next-gen gameplay and ended up disappointing us.
