Behind the Scenes: Director Aitch Alberto Says There Are No ‘Queer or Latinidad’ Tropes in New Movie
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe director Aitch Alberto talks to CineMovie about her adaptation of the NY Times best-selling YA novel of the same name by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. The film centers on the friendship between two teenage Mexican-American loners in 1987 El Paso who explore a new, unusual friendship and the magical road to self-discovery.
The film stars newcomers Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales with a supporting cast that includes Eugenio Derbez, Eva Longoria, Veronica Falcón, and Kevin Alejandro. Lin-Manuel Miranda, Eugenio Derbez, and Kyra Sedwick are producers of the #movie.

Perfect casting for roles! Felt an instant connection to them and was enthralled the whole time. This movie made me feel things in my heart that I wasn't expecting. I wish it was still theaters, but really looking forward to see it again.

I saw it in theaters yesterday! Had to drive 44 minutes though... limited release!

@@wildmaximilian it was oddly in my theater, which never has small releases, but only from Monday-Thursday. I missed my blue beetle time and saw this instead. By chance!

The sequel to the book came out 2 years ago, I hope they have them on contract to do the sequel for the movie if they do decide to do a movie based on the 2nd book.
