The concept:
One act, one visual artist, one shared stage.
A creative culmination where unique and custom created works of art visually accompany live performances.
When it comes to the German post-punk band Die Nerven, bitter post-punk pessimism melds with heated hardcore anthems, an alternative rock sound unfolds, and the lyrics both foreshadow the future and ward it off in equal measure. For COLLIDE, Die Nerven solemnly burn down the stage with their unmistakable sound and the songs “Frei” and “DER ERDE GLEICH”. Accompanied by dark visuals by Casper Westhausen together with Elastique., the visual art provides a fresh perspective on the group’s brutal sound. Die Nerven perform a nearly eight-minute-long live version of “DER ERDE GLEICH”. Things also get intense with a cover of “Ace of Spades” by Motörhead, which the band already performs as a permanent part of their live set on tour. Thanks to flaming 80s metal images combined with monster trucks and desert aesthetics, Casper Westhausen’s visuals fuel a performance that transforms the music into a completely new audiovisual experience.
Reeperbahn Festival is the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry. Since 2006, for four days each September the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany has become the centre of the international music world and a sustainable interface between artists, the public, industry representatives and society. The Conference programme is aimed at professional visitors from all segments of the music industry from around the world.
The Reeperbahn Festival takes place under the sign of togetherness - racism, sexism, homophobia and exclusion have no place with us.

COLLIDE verbindet Musiker*innen und visuelle Künstler*innen und kreiert ein einzigartiges ästhetisches Erlebnis.
Bei der deutschen Postpunk-Band Die Nerven kracht ein bitterer Post-Punk-Pessimismus in hitzige Hardcore-Hymnen, Noise schlingt sich um Alternative Rock, während die Texte die Zukunft erahnen - und sich dankend abwenden. Für COLLIDE brennen Die Nerven mit ihrem unverwechselbaren Sound und den Songs „Frei“ sowie „DER ERDE GLEICH“ nun feierlich die Bühne ab. Begleitet von düsteren Visuals von Casper Westhausen zusammen mit Elastique., wird damit eine frische Perspektive auf den brachialen Sound ermöglicht. „DER ERDE GLEICH“ performen Die Nerven in einer langanhaltenden, knapp achtminütigen Live-Version. Brachial wird es auch bei „Ace of Spades“ von Motörhead, welches die Band bereits als festen Bestandteil ihres Live-Sets auf Tour dabeihat.
Hier befeuern die Visuals von Casper Westhausen dank flammender 80s Metal-Impressionen mit Monstertrucks und Wüstenästhetik eine Performance, welche die Musik zu einem völlig neuen audiovisuellen Erlebnis macht.
