    It's not about having or not having to cry. Motion capture and voice acting are both the same thing as normal acting. People don't give these actors enough credit just because they don't physically see them on screen, but the skill that goes into it is exactly the same as traditional acting. Of course the actor will cry during an emotional scene. Not because he has to, but because that's how he feels in that moment.

    I hate all of the stupid celebs Kojima smacked into this goddamn game BUT Mads Mikkelsen and the DIEhardman guy were money very well spent, they're amazing and sold their performance very well. The rest of the cast is useless, but these two are surprisingly good, MoCap can't be done by everyone, you need to know how to sell your performance with it. I wish he spent the rest of the budget to add more stuff to the gameplay instead on that inexpressive hobo looking Reedus dude.

    Death Stranding, I truly believe this one of the greatest video games stories ever told. Ever fucking told. We all have played some great video games in our time, but Death Stranding, there’s no video game out there like it. There’s not a single story even similar to it. Kojima is a beautiful game developer. He even said: “I wanna create a game and cast all my friends and tell a story that nobody has heard before.” And he did exactly that. Most Bridges staff members from the game, the holograms, they are Kojima friends in real life. I’m so excited for the sequel. DS2.

    @michael lynch Stop acting like a kid during something like 3 or 4 comment replies. I'm pretty sure you haven't played the game to say that. "You keep walking during all the game, it's long and boring". So what about exoskelettons, vehicles and stuff ? What about all community constructions etc ? I'm at the middle of the game and I'm trully enjoying it. For real. Because you're rewarded for your achievements, you start alone, without any helps, trying to step over 2 or 3 rocks with a lot of difficulties with 50 kilos on your back. And after that you got some things which helps you more and more, you've got some cool stuff in this game. But the only thing you're saying is that "Zelda BOTW, Witcher 3, Smash Bros", you're pretending that we're saying that there is no hard work to make these games. Nobody said that. It's a good game, but not for everyone, that's all. And guess what ? I didn't like Witcher 3 and Zelda BOTW as much as I like Death Stranding. And so ? I'm not going under every Witcher 3 and BOTW video to comment that it was shitty games, nope it's not, it's just that I don't like these. Respect people. I'm gonna be honest. I've never seen the gaming community so divisive on a game before. There's no middle ground for it. It's either you love it or hate it. I, for one, love the game. Probably one of the best single player game I've played in the past 10 years. True, the gameplay might not be for everyone. But it serves it's purpose perfectly. It's not supposed to be an action game. He said that a few years ago. It's more about the "rope" than it is the "stick". And I love that. It's very refreshing to have a game like this. With so much deeper meaning behind it's already deep, rich narrative. And look at all the hard work put into it. The phenomenal performances from the actors, both with mocap and voiceover work. The incredible direction and world built by Kojima. The amazing soundtrack. Everything about this game is insane. And think. This was only in production for, what, 3 years I think? That's pretty damn impressive. People really need to look past the "Walking Simulator" reviews and actually play it. You'd be surprised at how good the game actually is. But again, this is my opinion. And everyone is entitled to their own. I'd never hate on someone for that. But as it stands, this is one of my all time favorite games. Hands down. And my apologies for the long paragraph.

    They really worked on this like so into the details. Random thought but I like that when Norman noticed the guys were having trouble trying to keep the wooden motorcycle steady so they could drill that he immediately went to help em with their job trying to help keep it still for them. That made him seem more like a grounded and considerate guy. And for a guy thats a really famous actor with a huuuge following. Because a lot of staff and crew etc that work with famous people have experiences with some famous musicians, host(or tv, media personality) and actors treating them like well shit because their fame went to their head and so are terrible divas with huge egos. Or maybe just my own opinion and reading into his actions too much. But Norman always seemed like a nice guy like really great to his fans and to the staff working on the walking dead

    Tommie literally tears flowing during a mo-cap. Amazing. That scene of his is the best motion capture ive ever seen in a game. Guerrilla Games has their work cut out for them topping this using their own engine. Horizon mo-cap was good for the major players but nowhere near this.

  • @sociallyineptspider-man2366

    @sociallyineptspider-man2366

    Generally the mocap was slightly worse in HZD because RPG games have to use a system where an AI picks out specific animations to match the dialogue that the player chose, but then in cutscenes HZD showed that its facial mocap was still incredible, and also HZD came out two years before death stranding did so in that time there'd be obvious improvements on the engine in both studio's as they often communicate with eachother
