Meanwhile I am working alone, extracting in my parents garage. In 5 days with hobbyist level equipment I've gotten out just over 100 jars packaged. One day perhaps my facility will be as supreme as this one. God bless!

I love the attitude that everyone at Blue ridge seems to have! Bob you’re obviously doing it right when it comes to employee management. I say that because everyone is smiling and happy and glad to see their boss. Happy workers are more productive more conscientious and just more pleasant to work around. The folks wouldn’t be that way if they had bad leadership. Just one mans observation. Thx for sharing your business with Bob I enjoyed this video very much!

This was interesting! I also watched the video where you were the guest speaker, at a beekeeping club. You told of some of your beekeeping adventures and experiences from your early beekeeping days until now. Actually explaining how you began beekeeping and mentors who helped and encouraged you. Excellent and inspiring video as is this one! YMr Binnie, you should write a COMPLETE book in my opinion.

Your retail store is amazing and I love the educational room. It's rare for a company to do that but it's great for families with kids. It's something that gives a customer value for the money. Being able to visit the observation hive is something I'm sure kids look forward to. As a single father of 2girls I try and shop locally, but I also have to really watch the budget. So I love when I can get something educational and interesting for them to see and do while supporting local businesses. Also you seem like you treat your employees well

Actual gloves aren't really a thing in handling foods, thats for an easy reasons. If you dpn't wear gloves you feel the contamination quite easy (specially honey), but with gloves you don'T feel smal contamination and most people even tend to ignore them. In these processes hands are the biggest factor in spreading contamination. Also it is way easier to teach people cross contamination, without gloves (e.g. don't touch door handles and then product) .

@@CuriousEarthMan No, worked enough in various kinds of food industry and chemistry. The only point where gloves are often used is in plain sight of the customer and thats only for the reason that many customers who aren’t deep into the materia think that gloves are cleaner, when they really aren’t. The worst of beeing food trucks, that use the same pair of gloves for the whole day touching everything from food to shelfs, containers and doors handles. The use of gloves in food industry really takes a lot of training and discipline

that is incredible tour, thank you. One question, do you have to wash the honey jars and caps before bottling? I always do but as my quantity of honey increases its becoming harder and very time consuming but I want to make sure everything is very safe any advice on what you do would be appreciated.

The containers we purchase are certified clean from the factory. We just have to keep them in a decent environment until we use them. The inspectors are happy with our situation. We're lucky that honey is considered a "safe" food and containers do not have to be pre sterilized.
