*KEEP THE REAL HIP HOP* (No Guns, No Sick Materialism, No Hoes, No Drugz) *ALIVE!!* . Greetings from Chile to 2 legends Kool Moe Dee and Chuck -D from P.E.
what a tremendous host Moe Dee is...he lets the interviewee take center stage ,doesnt interrupt ,doesnt try to hog the spotlight, doesnt rush....the personal anecdotes fit well without being overbearing and are used to give context for the question thats gonna follow....this mans a real class act(i forgive you for the britney spears movie)...REDEEMED!
Hyper intelligent rappers have always been my favorite type of rappers. And these two brothers along with KRS-1, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Nas, etc are the epitome of intelligence.
yes the rhythm the rebel chuck d is in effect yall Moe dee still doing his thing nice to see them together peace from london
Amazing how Legendary Chuck became. I'm so proud of his efforts. I was a witness of all of that on Long Island, even had a chance to work with Spectrum City way before they transformed into PE. So I'm proud of my Long Island Brothers.

Can't believe I am just finding this Masterpiece Interview. Master Teachers !!!
They made hip hop & rap much respect to you both for helping give birth to The culture
I love Chuck D......No gold chains, rings, diamonds or Rolex. Stray up raw.......Has made a ton of loot and has never lost his true identity. Black Power!!!
I'm so glad to see this engage of conversation with you both.. Mr Chuck D, in 1979 i was 7 and I met you in Roosevelt passing you and your crew outside a store on our way to Freeport. I had too much 🍬 coming out and you called me fat 😂 hilarious part was that I gave you the blessed "kiddie cuss out 🤬 " and whole crowd hollered laughing while you gazed back at me with an " I apologize lil fat girl" look on your face. Much love and respect legend and juggernaut.
I am a white dude. Who loves rap. I came in contact with hip hop at the end of the 70's. I am Dutch and we had and have colonies. So a lot of black music. I loved and still loves soul. I shorten it with all respect to soul music. They said Hannibal is listening to people who are rhyming on soul funk, freestyle. It is My thing. And the best thing is :I was a kid who listened to music and no fucking racist elements of the songs. I am proud to listen to your music. Africa Bambataa, whodini. Treacherous three. One group of mc's are to me like a long term marriage. It began with the bar. A ritual that proofs that not only the hand is quicker than the eye but the mouth is quicker than the ear
Chuck is my favorite MC of all time!! Kool Moe Dee is so underrated it’s a shame!!

Story teller....spoonie gee is a great one. Also pioneered the smooth rap. A great lyricist. People don't give credit
I AARON AKA BUTCH CASSIDY ALLEN WAS CHUCKS FIRST MCEE PARTNER. I WAS THE FIRST TO CUT A RECORD WITH HIM. 1984 THE GROUP CALLED SPECTRUM CITY. FLAV CAME MUCH LATER AS A ROADIE. THE REST IS HISTORY.
To hear Chuck tell his story is just Hip Hop gold! Thanks for posting this! Peace!
Here's something to consider: "I go to work" is a great rhyme to use when doing CPR. It kept someone alive until the ambulance came. You really can "make miracles happen just from rappin' " Thank you sir for that.
I'm sooo glad I found this is beyond Dope its very important to know the Culture from the Culture 🖤

Thank you guys for this...most rappers are intellects. They are forced to dumb down their music for the masses. I'm from both of those guys generation and grew up in NYC, this interview is a gem.

Yeah, PE's first album was aiight and it didn't really stick to ears like that at first - it grew on you....BUT....when "Rebel Without a Pause" hit the airwaves - it was all out shambolic shenanniganry. We never heard anything like that and I can remember riding around blasting that shit over and over all night long. This was when Hip-Hop kept a certain high energy in the air and it felt unlike anything from like '86-'90. Those 4 - 5 golden years gave us the most iconic, classic and diversified artists, lyrics, fashion and music in Hip-Hop history. There will never be another era like it. Things shifted around '91-'92 and it hasn't been the same since. The early-late 70's was a time when it was just all feel good & fun - it was truly the "magical" era of discovery & mystery. That was back when family and friends would come together to listen and party to the same records together over food and celebration. The 1970s was truly the first and best decade of my life! Naturally the 80's were a close 2nd.
Crazy that Chuck D is almost 60 now!
2 legends right here!!
So dope to find this now yes!

Absolutely awesome!
Great interview by two living legends 👏
Great show Mo, keep it up.
This should be a series. Moe Dee is insightful and funny. Chuck D’s brilliance is evident because he’s hardly a top 10 (or top 20) emcee but he managed to make the greatest hio hop albun of all times. KMD’s comes off a bit cocky (he earned that right) but his career as an artist is so unique because he was a top artist in the early era and in the golden era. Would like to see him interview other artists - current and legends. Can we get interviews with Doug, Lyte, Kane, Common, Cole, Latifah, Q-Tip, Busta, Primo, etc

Cool moe d chuck d genius interview very profesional thanks four keeping up with hip hop it was like sport talk but it was hip hop real talk genius interview thank u
Chuck D is spot on about how music was spread out back in the 80s..for example Eric B and Rakim dropped in 1986 " my melody" " eric b for president"...in KC we heard it in mid to late '87 and was bumpinh " I ain't no joke" in early 88
loved THIS INTERVIEW
