Behind the Board: GM Nihal Sarin - Interview
Спорт
🔽🔽🔽 ALL INFOS ON THIS INTERVIEW 🔽🔽🔽
With all the Indian Grandmasters popping up, it is getting difficult to keep track. One of them is the talented Nihal Sarin, who became the 53rd GM in India, at the age of 14. In March 2024, he was a Super grandmaster for a couple of days, but it won't be long, until he crosses the 2700 mark for good. He visited the ChessBase office because he was playing for the Hamburger SK chess club that weekend.
In the short interview with Arne Kaehler, Nihal's passion for chess is crystal clear - enjoyment!

Nihal is gonna shake up the scene just wait and watch
The player I always root for whenever he plays. Has had a rough time for a while now, but I know he will bounce back
Nihals english accent is so good to hear.
sweetest kid on the chess bloc.
He is one hot streak away from catching up to his contemporaries. Just that one streak! He may have to play more ambitiously and complicate stuff. GO FOR IT NIHAL!!
Love you nihal i am waiting you in top 10 from 2 years
Looking forward to see nihal with a great comeback
Was very nice to hear nihal
Very nice interview. Really good listen to Nihal 💯
Correct time to publish this!!
As hikaru once said, "Kramnik can go f himself"... NIHAL OP❤
Didn’t know he was from Kottayam, I live in Kottayam.
Enjoyment is so indian word. He was trying to say he wants to have fun and be happy playing rather go down the rabbit hole. I wonder if that is holding him back from going to super GM level. He was the india's highest rated junior in 2019 and one the experts were most optimistic around(back then comps were just with Pragg. Gukesh and Arjun were not that highly rated or visible back then)
When I working with a student, I become completely immersed in his playing style. I learned this from Michael Podgaets who was coach of Anatoly Karpov for decades.
Nihal❤❤
Nihal is Dubov of Indian chess. He will be a world champion soon 👍
Waiting for his rise!
Why hasn't nihal been playing much ...why hasn't he been improving like the others... curious to know, coz he's one of my favourites

My favourite chess player ✨
The one who adopted samay, Ruthless Nihal OP 😂
❤❤
Go Nihal!
Nihal reminds me of me if I was successful at chess, similar age, similar backgrounds, started chess at the same time, but I got stuck at 1500 since I didn't want to learn (openings, endgames) in depth, but I'm really good at bullet.
Really love ❤️ you nihal

I really love this boy since online Olympiad 2020 . nowadays I am worried his form… I think some bully colleague destroyed his confidence... purposively

I feel this was funny chat … I am rethinking now 😳👆👆👆👆
I don't know where his accent developed from. Did he live abroad in his chess career?
Nihal keep going!!! We want to see you in the top 10 soon! Ignore Kramnik - the man has lost his marbles.
where is chessbase india?

The video thumbnail can be improved. The name "GM Nihal Sarin" is more important than the word "Interview". Better to put emphasis where it is rightfully due.
"Interesting" interview
Kottayam has a larger population than Frankfurt or Stuttgart!
Refreshing this is THE Chessbase and not Chessbase India. The latter is good but lately it's always been Chessbase India.

He doesn't speak much.. Hard to make an interview like that!!!
Do you enjoy chess even when you are losing? Yes, I guess( i am a masochist). 😅

By this point, if Kramnik hasn't "exposed" you, you're doing something wrong.

Kramnik is a frustrated old man...he hasn't proved jacksh_t. He just gives out vague statistics that proves nothing. He's already been banned on Chesscom. Kramnik needs mental help and needs to be taught a lesson in humility
