Jeff Taege hooked a behemoth lake sturgeon today! It had his St. Croix rod bent to the handle. He fought this fish for over 15 minutes. The girth was impressive. We had no way to land a fish of this size so we captured 8 minutes of video before he intentionally broke the line to give the fish and his elbow a rest. We estimated this fish at over 5' long with an approximate 40" girth! Caught on 8 pound PowerPro with 8 pound Trilene Fluorocarbon leader dragging a 1/8 oz hairjig.
