If you let yourself go, this is moody too .... more so in my opinion... (but I have been listening and dissecting music for a VERY long time) I love The Cure, and Siouxsie and the Banshees where he was discovered. I also love Behemoth. And their choice of guest vocals, top notch. For me, it captured the exact feeling, but with an obvious Eastern Bloc twist/feel ( it's stiff in certain parts, and flows in others, largely to language indifference, but they know that, and fill it in. Nergal knows what he is doing.) to it ... amazing stuff none the less.

I don't know any other song covered, or written by Behemoth and played in that way. Reffering to trying new things, Im not saying about this one only, but generally. Each album from them has its own tone, latest album touched a bit of post metal, now they played a cover, but again they did something new for them this time. And I really wish to hear something orchestral from them, or a collab with a band like Septicflesh.

a lot of people are saying in this comment section that Robert Smith would not like this cover. If you don't like it that's fine, but until you ask him personally or he speaks on it, you're just putting words in his mouth. Personally I think this is the best cover of the song. Kvarforth's vocals capture the feeling of hopelessness and insanity perfectly. Behemoth had a very specific atmosphere in mind for this cover and they nailed it

A LOT OF PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT VOCALS HERE, HOWEVER; I think the vocals, are very good. I find them very artistic and full of expression. It's crafted carefully the way it is. It targets those who like it, and those who like it, love it. I guess people don't like the idea of an originally black metal band, having more black metal sounds when compared to most of their blackened death metal unique sound. The vocals distinctly give off a "90s black metal worship" vibe . It's basically gothic black metal mayhem worship. But it's uniquely behemoth. I'd say that this is a more than decent, BLACK METAL cover.

@@lazygirl5653 sure, better is subjective, but CF's cover is just a dumbed down version of the original song, with copious amounts of distortion and Nattefrost whispering, since he can't actually sing. At least this cover had far better musicianship and orchestration (naturally, since Behemoth are better musicians technically), although I think a more intense vocal performance would be more fitting.Anyway, that's just my opinion.
