Begumpul RRTS Station | Delhi Meerut RRTS |
The Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System, also known as Delhi Meerut RRTS and coloquially Rapid Rail, is an under-construction 82.15 km (51.05 mi)-long semi high-speed rail and regional rail corridor that will connect the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. It is one of the three rapid rail corridors planned under the first phase of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). Designed to allow a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project is being executed at a cost of ₹30,274 crore (US$3.8 billion). It will start from Jangpura as the starting station, run through Sarai Kale Khan, the terminal for the three planned corridors, both in Delhi, and end in Modipuram in Meerut. It will have 16 stations and two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2019, and construction began in June 2019. The project's first phase, or the 17 km (11 mi)-long priority corridor from Sahibabad to Duhai, was expected to become operational by March 2023. However, due to pending works in some stations, especially in Ghaziabad, it got delayed. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20 October 2023, and the rest of the entire 82 km (51 mi)-long corridor will be opened by June 2025. The owner of the corridor and its trains is the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), under whom the construction is also underway, while the operator is DB RRTS Operations India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn. Upon opening, the RRTS became the first regional transit system of India, also consisting the fastest rapid transit train in India, at an operational speed of 160 km/h (99 mph).

@@greenworld5587 i from delhi and meerut is 80 km away from here so up down means 80+80 160 km daily it it possible atleast it will take 1.5 + 1.5 means 3 hours daily

@@ss-416 the new rrts is is less then 60 minutens from end to end side. So imagine you get it at partapur or meerut south is may even be 45 mins. No hassle for car jams easy in easy out. Specially for those who normally travel with local bus and taxi etc. Very easy and fast way of travel. People who live in delhi alone have way longer time in traffic going from north to south delhi/gg in peak time. You can go in 60 mins from end of meerut modipuram to rrts end in delhi, that is next level speed.

@@semmoney5686 but due to its high cost it is not possible for middle class to travel daily on rrts by plane it takes less then a hour to reach delhi from prayagraj but any rich can do up down but not possible for middle class

Now only 17 km of RRTS (Duhai to modinagar north) is going to be inaugurated next week. Looking at the progress, it seems the whole corridor will be functional in early 2025.

मैं पिछले साल october में exam देने first time Meerut गया था और बेगमपुल से ही साधन मिला था Green Park Exam centre जाने के लिए। भाई construction की वजह से बहुत जाम लगा था वहां।🥵 शाम को Delhi वापस सहारनपुर-दिल्ली DEMU से गया था। RRTS आने से बहुत कम समय में दिल्ली से मेरठ आ जा सकेंगे।
