In this video, Qanoondan's Mehrunisa Virk explains the constitutional case of Begum Nusrat Bhutto vs. Chief of Army Staff and Federation of Pakistan PLD 1977 SC 657 which reiterated the doctrine of necessity due to which the detention of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and 10 other representatives was legal. The writ petition of Nusrat Bhutto was rejected and the case was decided in favour of Chief of Army Staff.
