Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this Beginning Beekeeping Series video, Doug the Bee Guy explains how to light a bee smoker the easy way and what bee smoker fuels you can use. Bee smoker instructions are illustrated in a step by step fashion.
This beekeeping for beginners series will cover all the topics needed to become a beginning beekeeper, basically a Beekeeping 101 course for new beekeepers.

I always use the same pine chops I use for the chicken coop, but bbq pellets does sound like a great idea!

Yep that's what the pine shavings in the video are from. We buy them by the bale at the feed store. The pellets are just the regular type for pellet stoves. I bought them at Menard's for like 4.00 for a 40 lb bag. The pellets work great for those long days in the bee yard. I can get 6 to 8 hours if I use my tall smoker. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

For a female just getting bees next spring.. would u recommend one deep and two medium for brood or 3 medium for brood??????( im understand ill only have one box initially but im considering the big picture

Some people use one Deep + one Medium, the downside is you cannot shuffle the frames due to size differences. 2-Deep equal 3-Med boxes. I'm in Virginia and overwintered several single deep boxes and one Med brood, but the small box was short on resources last month (otherwise doing well).

Smoker pellets like the ones used for cooking bbq?

  • @DougtheBeeGuy

I think those are a little to high end for a bee smoker. LOL The pellets I use are just the regular type for pellet stoves. I bought them at Menard's for like 4.00 for a 40 lb bag. If I used those bbq pellets I think I'd start craving Memphis Dry Rub ribs and then I'd never get any work done. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Where did you get the cotton seed from? All I am finding online is "pellets" of cotton, and not what you are using in this video
