I absolutely love baneful protection. I've created my grimoire in such a way that I've built this cursed book system "He who reads this book without my witches word be hexed till ones confess" in big words on the first page sigils and all. I've had nosey ass people fall on their faces near seconds after putting down my grimoire. I once had a sibling come up to me to apologize because all these things were happening to them I asked "why are you sorry?" they replied "I read your book..." Some say it's wrong to do harm to family, I agree but my family crosses the line at snooping through my things without my consent. Fuck around and you'll find out.

If it's wrong to protect yourself, then I don't wanna be right. I have basically the same thing in my grimoire's with the literal phrase "fucker, don't test us" at the bottom of each of the front pages, a phrase I've lived by for decades .

For anyone working with Judeo/ Christian folk magic, a REALLY old form of baneful magic is the imprecatory psalm. Basically, you have a rant session to your deity about your issue at hand (person, thing, doesn't matter). Your deity cherry-picks the fine points of your rambling hex/ curse, and applies them justly as needed. It's a poetic, creative way of weaving your baneful magic. Think slam poetry, stream of consciousness cursing, essentially. King David was INFAMOUS for this practice, and it's pretty potent stuff. Literal chunks of the Psalms are these curses dedicated to Y*HW*H. Pretty wild stuff.

I love that you covered the "baneful blessing" aspect. Intention is everything. I know a lot of love and light practitioners that don't even consider that their workings will have painful consequences.. not all lessons are learned the easy way. If you send someone an "error of your ways" type lesson, that totally falls into baneful magic. I personally don't see anything wrong with that as long as you understand what you are actually doing and take responsibility for it. The universe pays attention, and people can only dismiss their actions for so long before what they put out comes back home.

Unless you don't believe in Karma or believe you transcend karma. It works! Your guilt causes your "punishment" to manifest. If you don't feel guilty, there is no punishment. Dark energy doesn't have a moral code. "As above, so below. Do as thou wilt." That's how narcissists seem to never pay for anything, because they believe they're above it, therefore, they are. It's a code for mortals and we are not that. Unless you want to be. I've learned to look at myself as a goddess and instead of worshipping dieties, BECOME the diety, harness their energy and make it yours. That's the next level after "witch", the level after Goddess is a Spiritual Alchemist

The worst I've done was a binding spell as far as baneful goes. Basically restricting a frat bro-type from harassing my friend (this was harassment that involved reports and a title 9 complaint to the school so not a petty issue) and also binding him to his own choices. I think that's kind of baneful-domination rather than pure baneful. It worked, he moved out of the building within a week of doing the spell. It's a little bottle and knot spell that I keep on my altar and shake when I see it. When my friend is done with the college I'll undo the spell.

I think its also important to remember that we have to always be careful when we have active altars that are open sources of magic. Baneful works may happen without us consciously doing them, if we already have a working altar that we use for other kinds of spells. Because such an altar is essentially like a tap, which is your source of power and an anchor to all of your spells. And if you have a really strong negative emotion against them long enough, it can actually manifest into baneful magic without you consciously casting a hex or putting a jinx or cursing someone by doing a full fledged working.

I'm Lakota Sicangu, and I've heard of elders talk about 'bad medicine.' Which may be their version of baneful magic. But I've also grown up with the belief that people who do bad things will eventually be turned on by what they surround themselves with. Like for example, someone who's a pipe-carrier. If someone who carries a pipe with them starts doing things that aren't holy or aren't good to others, we just leave them be and protect ourselves, because we believe that eventually, the pipe will "bite them back" XD. Very vague teachings. But I'm still learning myself. Growing up on the rez still doesn't mean I've learned everything yet, I still need to reach out to the right people. Great video though, Frankie! Your latest stuff is really intriguing ^^

Love this! I have a couple tips: -I knit, crochet, embroider etc. Whenever I'm making something for a specific intention (like protection and blessings, which I do whenever I make things for my niece and nephew), I try to choose a color that corresponds with my intention and then I simple speak a blessing/intention over my materials at the beginning of the project. Works a dream. Cleansing for wearables is especially easy because the yarn I use is machine washable -While substitutions can be dicy, I highly recommend substituting nightshade with other kitchen items in the same genus, like tomatoes or bell peppers; unless of course you're allergic to them. In fact, I have a private theory that the reason for the prevalence of chili peppers and tobacco in baneful folk workings might be due in part to the fact that these plants are all nightshades. I prefer apples myself, because of the whole cyanide in the seeds thing, but to each their own!

Instead of sending energy back to sender, I like to send that energy to power a baneful ward. They wanna send me energy, I'm not gonna give it back, I'll use it to boost my protections and they'll continue to waste their energy with nothing in return. If they wanna continue to fuck around, they're gonna find out when they hit the newly powered-up ward. I got the idea from the spell to "transmute" the ickiness from Utterly Wicked, but figured if there's stuff coming my way, it's a good time to up my protection, and might as well make use of the energy that's directed at me anyway.

in regards to the venn diagram, i would absolutely classify chord cutting as a "domination hex" as it has the dominating aspect of forcing someone/their energy away from you and it hexes them by preventing them from having access to you regardless of how much they want that

I love this discussion of baneful protection/blessings! I actually was unaware of that classification before despite kind of having that effect imbued in my threshold protection so I guess that “and stay out!” vibe is strong with me I keep up a braid above my door that cleanses people walking under it and bounces and scatters that “sticky energy” that clings or sneaks in with them back out! I personally don’t believe in conscious entities that I’m like hexing there but I’m intentionally trying to make that energy turn to dust outside my door :)

Could you do a video on the origins of witchcraft one day? I've been practicing for about a year but I've struggled to find any definitive information on where witchcraft began. Obviously it's evolved over the centuries but it doesn't sit right with me that I'm so passionate about a practice without even knowing who started it. If not a video, would you know any resources that would provide this info?

The trouble is that witch craft has evolved over a long time - from shamanistic practices, folk magic, there are even some religious practices now categorised by some as witchcraft (think catholic incense burning). If you want to look at the development of more organised practices (like wicca), I suggest researching occultism during the later 1800s and throughout the 1990s, with stuff like the development of the order of the golden dawn (I think it was called). But if you prefer more kitchen/eclectic/hedge/green/hearth-based practices, it becomes much trickier to track. You could study the causes of the witch burning, and the wise women type people who existed more before them. Also, you could look into the evolution of hoodoo and voodoo type practices, especially during the era of slavery and after. Bottom line is, there is no comprehensive timeline for witchcraft because witchcraft as we know it today has evolved from hundreds of practiced, religions, etc. The was no ONE PERSON who FOUNDED EVERYTHING, so don’t think about it that way. It’s like cooking - there wasn’t a single discoverer of how to make desserts, it was many different people, whose ideas all contributed to something that we now have a name for. However, if you are a Wiccan, or belong to another organised group, I suppose you could just use the founder of that group or theory, though you can always go farther back. Maybe this helped, maybe it didn’t, I have no idea. Sorry it’s so long.

Wow, what a synchronizity. Just a few days ago I started looking into baneful magic, because I'm considering to hex someone, because a healing spell for unhealed aspects of myself doesn't seem to cover it this time. And now this. My favorite KZreadrs doing a video on this topic. 😍 Really looking forward to watching the video!! I really like the part about baneful blessings and baneful protection. That's something I want to learn more about. Something that you didn't cover, but I read about in one of the books you've suggested (I think it was Grovedaughter Witchery), is baneful magic that depends on the target and specific actions the other person does, would trigger the baneful magic. If they don't do the action then they will not experience any baneful magick. Thanks for everything, it's a great video, that I will rewatch for sure. Have fun together, Olivia and Frankie. See you in the next one.

I loved this video. I absolutely love that people are talking about this because it is a huge part of witchcraft whether people want to talk about it or not. It seems today that we don't act we all have feelings and that we all at some point in our path probably will need to retaliate for some major wrongdoing that was done to us. I am not Wiccan so I don't adhere to the threefold law. I also don't believe that the universe is sitting around expecting us not to fight back if something is actively trying to harm us. I also believe that this could be a very good healing opportunity for some to feel like they could get some justice when every other avenue of justice has failed. Whether you make them see they've done wrong and that really doesn't work because they are a sociopath so they don't care or you've try to take in it to court and it doesn't work. So you're abuser does not get sentenced and gets off Scott free. So then I think it could become also a part of healing magic on your end to feel like that you have gotten some type of justice on this person no I'm not saying just go out and curse or hex anyone that just pisses you off but there comes a line and when someone crosses that linebI'm absolutely prepared to fight back. Not just offensive but I'm also prepared to send everything I have back at you. If you hurt my family or me it's on. I also want to add that before you cast anything like this. I always go by a 3/6-day rule. Give it 3 days. Think about it and if you're still feeling the same way in 3 days that you feel about it when it happens. Unless it's something like abuse, sexual abuse or anything like that then absolutely go to the cops. Don't wait three days, but if you feel like it after 3 days then think about your options and then after 3 more days. If you're really still wanting to hex then it may be justified, but usually after the total 6 days you'll notice that you don't even care anymore. If it's something simple that like a boyfriend breaks up, you're going to notice. Even If I dont feel completely better but it's going to start getting better. So after that basic 6-day. You're going to notice a complete difference in the way you feel so very rarely when you need to use this type of magic. Are there people who just go around cursing people for the heck of it? Absolutely! And I think they will get theirs now. I when I say I don't believe in the threefold law I did not say that I did not believe that things will come back to you as you have dished them out, whether this life or the next. So happy. Witching everyone. This is all my opinion Just the way I do things.

I've done baneful magic once , and it definitely works , one day i shook the jar and bashed it as hard as i could. The next week found out the person i jinxed got sick... The closest i get to baneful now is just the freezer spell , and weird thing , there's this person that bothers and irritates my sibling (Who I'm Very Close with) and me being the caring witch sibling that i am , i put the person in the freezer in my kitchen. That was in January this year , i saw the person for the first time in 4 months, two weeks ago. When i got home that same day I went to put them in the freezer again and saw the paper i originally put in wasn't there , which is weird because i never touched it , so it was probably one of my parents, but anyways , i was abt to put the new paper in there , and then i remembered, we have a Freeze in my Garage. So i went to my garage and put it in a Corner where no one but me would find it. Haven't seen the person since then.

I've got Datura, Brugmansia, Henbane, and Belladonna growing in pots on my patio, and in my home under a growlight. I'm growing them to build an allyship with the plant spirits, and I love their pretty flowers. It also doesn't hurt to have these ingredients should I choose to engage in baneful magick.

you gave me a lot to think about, thank you. in fact, i think somebody jinksed me accidentally. not that they are a witch but i lately learned that this person that i took for a friend in fact hates me and their hate has caused a lot of pain in my life. so i'm asking myself what to do here. protection magic evidently but also a send back to sender? a hex? you had very good opinions and i'll be rewatching this discussion to see clearly.

Lol, I like to heal myself by wishing others more than the best than they deserve and let the universe/ dieties/ energy decide whether it's nice or not. And my manifestation is that everything will work out in the best way possible for everyone involved. This is all because I am so terrified that I will screw myself if I try sending anything dark.

I am Italian as well and honestly, I am kinda scared to look up my ancestor's stories and such because my grandmas and great grandmothers were interesting... plus I don't even know where to start on this, do you have any advice on ancestor researching and or sites that one can use? It would mean the world to me. Anyways have a good weekend and I send you lots of love from Tuscany!!

I have found that if your unable 2 get 2 a crossroads like instructed you can do something else that your able 2 do such as burning or find a place that is abandoned and place it there anywhere that you can for example for me I live just a short distance from a crossroads but it is not a dirt crossroads there also is an empty lot right next 2 it so I can dig a place there and it will work just the same

Hi Frankie. I have a burning question where I can't find a clear answer to anywhere on the internet. Maybe you know it? Was the term 'witch' also used before christianity? (to describe someone, positive/negative, maybe a healer of some sorts) And how does a 'witch' differ from other magical practitioners (oa sorcerer, wizard etc..) And your 'revisting the basics' videos helped me out so much, thank you for your Wonderfull content!

Not gonna lie, but I do Return-to-sender spells, and redirect own negative energy back spells, and universal karma balancing spells. I've never cursed someone but I can't stand moral imbalances and so I will do those spells. But I also say, if the person does not give out negative energy, then no negative energy will go back to them. I'm not going to stop doing these spells.
