The "tunnel" structure becomes much more useful with the advent of blueprints in update 7. Now, you only need to create once! Can't do a full 40 meter circle though. Only up to 24 meters (I think? assuming the large pillars on each end take up 4 meters each- whatever, you should be able to make a tunnel with an outside diameter of 32 meters max).

You could probably also make half-circles or quarter-circles and put those together.

You can get rid of it by having pak utilities and easy cheat mod fly on at the same time
