    Super helpful video! But you might want to try knitting through the back loops when you're doing the ribbing. It transformed mine from being really uneven and messy to pretty much perfect 😊

    Hi! Your sweater looks great! I’m so stuck on colour chart A 🥲 how do you do that snowflake motif? Do you knit all the way to the arrows and then repeat the repeated section? Where do you knit to before you “repeat”? Hope I’m making sense x

  • @madelinekathrene

    hi, thank you! you can totally do it too!! 🥹 so, in the bottom right corner (charts are knit right to left and bottom up). Start where the first arrow is and knit the 5 stitches to the bracket and then everything in the repeat brackets. Continue to repeat everything in the repeat brackets until you only have 4 stitches left and then finish the remaining 4 stitches outside of the brackets on the left side of the brackets! I was very intimidated at first, but if you just start, one stitch at a time, then it starts to feel like it makes sense. 😁 let me know if I can help in any other way! I am so excited for you to make this sweater also!!

  • @madelinekathrene

    2 ай бұрын

    Ah yes!! So what I ended up doing was a M1L/M1R stitch set on each side of the sweater leaning away from each other with 1 knit stitch in between- under the underarm "seam" first row M1L and M1R twice for 4 increased stitches and the second row add two more! I hope that makes sense hahah🥲

  • @madelinekathrene

    @madelinekathrene

    2 ай бұрын

    yes! so you have two options, to make with German short rows or to make with shoulder seams (which is how it was done in the pic of the pattern) I did the German short rows bc it was less construction in the end- aka less sewing a lot of panels together. either one you chose, just ignore the instructions for the other method as you knit, unless it says "for both construction methods". for the shoulder seam method, you cut the yarn (make sure you leave a long tail), put the back panel down, cast on, and start knitting a whole new panel, and for the German short rows you will cut your yarn (always make sure you leave a long tail) and pick up and start knitting again at the top of your back panel near the neck along the left side.

    @@madelinekathrene oooohhhh, so you don’t need to do both methods unless it says! So if I do German short rows I ignore the shoulder seam part? That makes so much more sense!
