Thank you, you've just saved me alot of money as I'm a confident sewer I sew for a local company but patterns were like an alien language to me I was going to pay to learn how to read them, but your video explains everything very well 🙏

thank you that was so informative!
This video was very helpful, there are a lot of little things in a pattern I'm still learning about, came across a French dart a while back,I muddled my way through it but I'm sure I did not do it right. This video will be very beneficial to a lot of people. ☆ Thank you
Thanks 👍🏽
i've noticed when reading size guides that my hips and waist are often about eight sizes larger than the clothes that actually fit me- for example, i wear size L/14 and size guides say i need size XXXXL/24 for my hips and waist. my sewing pattern says i need a size 26 for my waist but a 16 for my hips, should it be ok under these circumstances to make the pattern to size 16?
What was the pattern you used for the instruction booklet?
0:39 Can you please recommend a sewing machine that would be good for a beginner that has a good many bells and whistles? Thanks!

Hi Tracy, we have a number on our website that would be suitable and we have a sewing machine match maker in our office who can help you whittle it down and find your dream machine. Drop us an email to sales@sewessential.co.uk and we can arrange for her to give you a call and help you understand what you're really looking for then give you a range of options. It is a no pressure call, or you can have an email if you prefer, but I promise you it is so worth doing.
Not clear, on measurements how a beginner gonna curve over to another size ?
what if there are the same amount of solid cutting lines as there are muli size cutting lines and they don't match up....do i only pay attention to the multi size and where it leads or match it up with the solid cutting line. I have some pattern pieces like this in a garment i am making and it's very confusing. Not all the pattern pieces do this. They match up with the solid cutting lines. please help
Should of had a piece of printed fabric to demonstrate...centerfold, etc!
What do the circles mean?
Hi everyone. I’m finding some patterns expensive. Is it crazy if I trace pieces on another paper , with tracing wheel, of the size I want for my project? I would like keep my options open- just in case I need another size of clothing. Does anyone do it? Any tips?

Hi Sophie. I always trace my pattern pieces and keep the packet pattern intact in case I want to make again in another size. Just remember to also trace over all the notches and indicators. Good luck with your sewing!
My pattern calls for cutting 2 fabric and 2 contrast. What do they mean by the contrast?

Contrast is a different color/pattern/style fabric, it’s the accent fabric on patterns with multiple colors/patterns/styles on the views
