As a Video teacher myself, I must say this was explained incredibly well. Thank you for this great video. One thing I disagree on: sticking to the 180° rule when in higher framerates. Your example on 1/50 vs. 1/320 when shooting 25fps is perfect, and great visual representation on this subject. In my opinion and findings/research, the 180° shutter only goes for the 'regular' framerate of 25fps (and thus with 1/50 of a second shutter speed for each frame). If you go up in framerates higher than 25, there is no use sticking to this doubling rule, as the motion blur will never again reflect the real feel of your eyes and 'natural motion blur'. You would never be able to demonstrate the 'same motion blur as your eye' in the higher framerates, if you keep this rule in higher framerates. It makes sense when you break this down to capturing one frame. Example: if you shoot 100fps and each frame is lit for 1/200 of a second: the motion blur will NOT be realistic: each frame is lit way too short, to represent a 'normal' motion blur comparable to real life. When you shoot 100 fps, there is not a way to make this look realistic, even when you slow this down 4x on a 25fps timeline: each frame is lit 1/200 of a second, freezing the action 100 times a second. This means the image is slow motion, but each frame was lit way to short to represent correct motion blur. Basically this even means: if you shoot in 50fps, you should actually stick with for 1/50 for your shutter (meaning this is 360° exposure instead of 180°), as each frame is representing correct motion blur. The motion blur is simply not 'captured' is you shorten the shutter speed: if you have 50 or 100 frames that captured for too short of a time, action was captured too 'crispy'.
Cool video Teppo! Just re-watching it here as I just got the DJI mini 4 Pro! 😄 do you have insurance for your drone or 3rd party liability?
Which one is the best nd filter kindly share the name details

Thanks Teppo, great informative vid 👍🏻
I bought DJI Avata recently and thanks to your failed Iceland trip I know you got one too :D Any chance you might do a video or atleast a quick post about your recommended settings for Avata ?

I got some for GoPro & Sony A7SIII, should find in the search. Welcome to the community 🔥
You got a bit mixed up with your frame rates, 25,50 UK & Europe, 30 & 60 USA, 24 frames for that cinematic look
Tuli juuri hankittua itselle kyseinen drone. Helppohan tuota on lentää, mutta on noissa ominaisuuksissa paljon opeteltavaakin kyllä, että saa kaikki irti. Kiitos paljon hyvästä opastuksesta kameran asetusten suhteen 😊👍

Sick intro Teppo! 😊 do you also have to overexpose D-Log like you do with S-Log?

When I try to download the dji conversion lut, for some reason it does not allow me to download it to Final Cut. It’s basically not a file clip if that makes sense
They use 30p in US (29.97 NTSC) and 25p in Europe and Asia (PAL). 24p is the standard for movies.
Would like to ask about hlg profile, in case you are not very good in corol grading...would be better this or stick to normal; thank you in advance ... Great videos as always

Like i said in the video, grading HLG back to normal is just as simple as apply 1 LUT from DJI’s website to bring it back to normal contrast / saturation
@Whitephoenix1402

Nope, that's for d log m. HLG keeps the dynamic range and it's not a flat color profile, even if you plan to export in SDR you have high dynamic range and better highlight rolloff@@TeppoHaapoja

Use Normal profile...its really good. Unless you want a really stylized footage then keeping it looking as real to life as possible is best. Plus this requires no work. You will see a lot of channel recommend the normal setting vs dlog. The dedicated drone channels most of them use normal.
