FYI the depth gauge tool is made of hardened steel, they're designed to have a file run over them. They will last years before they need to be replaced

Hi intresting but you forgot to tap the top of the cutter with the butt of the handle you just sharpend this is to stop flakes of metal shards tearing of when cutting i am a retired Arborist with a HND in Arboroculture hope this helps
