Hello everyone, today I will be teaching you how to do Sugar Plum Fairy female variation for beginners, in demi-pointe shoes or flat shoes, so it is really done in a beginners level.
As always the tutorial will be delivered in a slow pace as well divided in different sessions, so you can learn the steps and sequence of each session in your own rhythm. Fell free to pause at any time as well go back and forth even ask questions about any ballet skill explained in todays tutorial that is not completely understood. Please, also be aware of warming up before not only today's ballet tutorial, but also before any ballet lesson, ballet variations, pointe lessons and so one, safety first.

About Me:
My name is Yelena and I was born in the small town of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba
From the age of seven I moved to Havana and started at a boarding school studying with the National Ballet School of Cuba (A scary but exciting opportunity for me!).
I then spent the next decade learning and honing my skills as a ballerina. Skills which I would then use to turn myself into a professional touring ballerina touring around Cuba.
With limited opportunities in my own country, I then took the amazing leap to traveling abroad and was lucky enough to be sponsored by a company to work in a stage show in China of all places!
Since then I have continued to perform and travel, and most recently have begun teaching. I truly believe I have lots of ideas to share with you as well as a in-depth view of the cuban ballet methodology for ballet.
My aim is purely to help you learn and enrich your ballet technique and increase your love for dance! ❤️

I love this combination =) ended up learning it around thanksgiving gave my self about two days before I danced it in front of the xmas tree at the local tree lighting ceremony, my music was an absolute fail but the little girl who lives across the street saw me and liked it, doing this same one in a tutu next year for sure! just reviewing it now to see if it's still in my body because if it is that would mean I've learned 6 variations now since two years ago! (I just taught myself giselle act 1) =D

Such polished form! You make it look easy, but it is not. When I try to do what you are doing, it looks clumsy and ungainly. Very pleasant to watch a master dance.

Hi Nicole, thanks for your comment. I’m actually wearing two pieces, leotard and squirt. They are both Chinese brand. I live in China, that’s why you will see me with wearing local brands among the others too.

I kinda have a couple of variation request if it's okay with you but I so much want to learn Queen Myrtha in Giselle and La Esmeralda ? I really love this Sugar Plum so much . It's really putting me in the Holiday spirit
