Love the bean bag, still haven't acquired one of those. One thing I did do was cut a short length of a pool noodle, then cut it down one side to slide over the car window. It's height adjustable with the window, and does protect against that hard edge. I find myself forgetting to use it most of the time, but it's nice to have.

Yeah I picked one up a while ago and it Litterly stays in my car because it's so useful. Also for hikes as they are fairly light.

Much needed video for me, as I start to spend more time in this genre. Or, at least trying to find wildlife first 😆 Thanks Kevin!

Wa wa waaa 🐸 lol. You know the red winged blackbird will go up against even the golden eagle. They are ferocious little buggers. Awesome video. I got to get a bean bay for car.

Yeah they can be aggressive it seems lol. The bean bag has worked really nicely. I may even start going on short hikes with it too along the ponds and lake for shore birds

Curious on why you adjust your f stop so much instead of adjusting and compensating with shutter speed?

Hey elitehawk, hope youre day is well. Because I've found my images are a little sharper or better image quality, one stop down. This is typical of most lenses. I do try to keep a high shutter speed for birds, which is why most days I shoot in shutter priority, but i rarely shoot wide open unless the light is poor.

@@KevinNordstrom Totally get the aperture being sharper 1 stop up, but wouldn't a better way to create a better depth of field is too keep the aperture wide open +1 stop? This way you are allowing the most light, still obtaining that DoF, and maintaining that sharper image. Then controlling the light Via shutter speed.

Sorry you lost me at the duck calls... we should be capturing nature, not altering it. Let the wild animals and birds be wild, no calling, and no baiting. You do you, but I would think twice over it.

@Kevin Nordstrom the reason I do it a lot is just because I'm fortunate enough to have a route based driving job that isn't under strict time mgmt so I can stop and take pics all the time. It's still never enough, though. 🤣
