Hello! If you have 18sc on round 3 and on round 4 you will add 4 more sc (1sc, 1inc, 1sc = 4sc) 6 times... 4 × 6 = 24

You might want to stick a locking stitch marker on the last stitch of each round so you can keep track of your stitch count. This might be why yours is off, jyotisurvavanshi1 bobby pin works too.
