Hi. Thank you for this video! I have been trying to figure out how to cure the medium without putting it in the oven. I didn't know you could use epoxy. I would like to know what you use for epoxy please. I am trying to make some tumblers as gifts and just want to make sure I buy the right product. Thank you again. :)

This video was very helpful. Thank you! I’m New to this and very scared to try my first tumbler. What type of printer would you recommend to use? Thank you!
I enjoyed your video
Thank you for the very helpful video! My only question is, do you have to spray paint it or could you just lay the decal down and then expoy it to seal it in?
Thanks for another great tutorial! I was wondering what was the difference between the white and clear. I definitely want to try the white now.

Thank You for your video, very very helpful. I need to apply a clear full wrap waterslide and after epoxying and dried, I was left with with two little needle size protrusions and one bigger one. I know if I sand them, they will show under waterslide. Do you have any suggestions for this problem? Thank You ❤️
@SandysOrganizedChaos

If you’re worried about the sanding showing through, just apply another coat of epoxy just to make sure it’s completely smooth for your application.
You made this look extremely doable
I love your videos! So very helpful. You’re a great teacher. Do you ever have an issue with your ink bleeding after you apply the water slide? I was sure to seal mine with plasti glossifier and it bled. I did remove the no bleed option on my printer too! Perhaps I should try the rustoleum brand. 🤷🏼♀️
@SandysOrganizedChaos
4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And it sounds like you may not be using enough of your spray sealer. I hear that people who use the plasti glossifier do a couple of coats. Next time you need to purchase a spray sealer I would give what I use a try. One good coat and done.
Thanks! Have you ever layered waterslides on a tumbler/substrate? Or is that even possible?
Great explained video. I have a question. I've seen videos, just like this one, but they apply the waterslide, face down. Is this something that also can be done ?
Hi Sandy! This is the easiest video to follow! Thank you! What is the name of the long script font on the tumbler sitting in the background?
I also like to have some printed already n put away for when I need them. Do you spray n seal the design right after printing n then put them away got another day or right before your about to use them?
Hi great video. My question is what setting do you use for printing do you have it to print on plain paper or glossy
I love your work!! So amazing!! I want to start making tumblers. I have a question I live in an apartment.. I do have the mask but I’m afraid doing the tumblers in the kitchen right next to the door won’t be ventilated enough ? Any recommendations?

You could always get two box fans. One in a window bringing air from the outside in, if possible, and the other fan facing out the door to help keep the air circulated. Just make sure the air isn’t blowing directly onto your work. You just want it to be lightly moving the air around and out.
Love how easy you made this look!! I’m so ready to try and make my first water slide decal tumbler!! I do have a question though.. The reviews on the transparent water slide decal paper on amazon, said you have to mirror the image before printing it out? But I didn’t see you do that, and I just wanted your opinion on that before I purchase it because now I’m confused lol
@SandysOrganizedChaos
3 жыл бұрын
I don’t mirror my images. I know some mirror theirs and apply it by facing it down onto the tumbler then sliding the backing off. I just do it as the instructions on the package state, or as you see me do it in my video.
Hi Sandy! So happy I ran across your video. Is it an easier way to know if a waterslide decal will show up on the color your using on your tumbler? I ran into this problem with a tumbler that I had already used brite tone on only to find out that the decal was waaay too transparent 😩😩 now I have another order on a different tumbler and am scared to even start glittering it because I’m not sure what color to use to make sure that the decal will show. Sorry so long! Lol
Thank you fornsharing. Do you have to use epoxy over it? I've never used epoxy and worry a out applying it to mugs. Any info would be soooooo appreciated.
Hi there! Everything I've been researching says that the decal needs to be sealed. If I apply a waterslide to something like those insulated koozies (like Brumate), how would I seal the waterslide if the image is mirrored and applied upside down?
New lady here. Thank you !
If I want to add a photo to my tumbler, would water slide work or use printable vinyl ? I’m new at this so need help. Thanks. Loved the video
My first tumbler (recently) was with a water slide. I am near-certain it was a smooth enough surface, that I got all the water out, and I let it sit for 3-3.5hrs. It looked great. When I put on a coat of epoxy, some of the edges curled right up. Anyone have suggestions /advice? Thanks in advance!
Awesome video, I appreciate you showing how to do this.. I do have a question though, why do you spray the decal with a clear coat spray?
@SandysOrganizedChaos
3 жыл бұрын
It’s habit. I feel the epoxy sticks better if I apply the spray sealer first.
Which paper do you recommend to apply wording to ceramic plates?
I have the ink not the cartridges will it still work on the water slide paper. This is my first time and u did a good job on showing me the steps. Thank u
I really enjoyed you video thank you! I have a question though. Can you use sublimation ink/printer with water slides?
@SandysOrganizedChaos
3 жыл бұрын
That is a great question. And I am not sure lol. From what I was able to find they say no. It needs to be an inkjet printer.
I use a cricut Air 2 and with my water slide I usually cut them by hand too but is there a way to remove that black border around the image since I am only printing from design space not cutting? Thank you!
So if I'm wanting to put am image on a black mug, the white waterslide works? Thanks so much 😃
love this video, I really appreciate your dedication. I want to know if once the procedure is finished on a cup, can I wash the cup without lifting the sticker? The other question would be, is it necessary to have special sublimation ink or can it be with regular ink? Thanks in advance.
@SandysOrganizedChaos

I would definitely recommend coating it in a sealer, like epoxy, to last. I just use whatever my inkjet printer recommends for ink 🤗

What app or site u go to to print your images, do custom names fonts and personal photos etc.. I have a printer no cricket machine. I want to get into doing tumbler water slide cups please help me I’m clueless lol
How do you make sure your glitter tumbler has a “smooth enough” surface? I’ve herd of some people sanding them but I’m not sure the best way!! Please help!
Hi, newbie here! Your video was so helpful, I feel like I can tackle this effectively! I do have one question, what is the purpose behind the spray? I like to know the why behind things and am curious, thank you!

Spraying your waterslides help seal the them before you place them in the water just so the ink doesn't run off. The spray seals it.
Sandy I love your videos. I've learned so much from you. May I ask where you find your waterslide graphics? I just bought waterslide paper but don't know where to get the graphics. Thanks in advance. Lynn
Subscribing 😍.
Thanks for the video! Quick question for you as I'm having issues with my water slide. How long do you leave it in the water and does the temperature of the water matter? Mine doesn't seem to be separating well and it's messing up the picture.
Can you use any printer and ink. Also can you apply this to any cup surface. I have the clear plastic cups.
Will any color printer work? I am just getting started and don't want to get a new printer as of right now but already have a cheap HP Deskjet
What is the clear coat needed for? I just purchased water-slided and have been too nervous to use them. But your steps have been helpful!

I have a cricut explore air 2 I have been making tumblers couple months now. I have had people ask for photos like of family an also I feel like this would just be easier all around for multi colored decals... I'm not sure what kind of printer I have I think just a regular one an I assume this wouldn't work with mine? What printer do I need to do something like this (least costly, I hv already invested so much 🤦♀️). I'd almost wished I wouldve gotten printer I needed instead the cricut...egh. Looks so much easier than weeding, an trying to layer colors way I hv been doing

Any inkjet printer will do. Clear water slides are great for light colored tumblers. They won’t show up on dark colors. So if you choose to use the transparent water slide just keep that in mind.
Hello! So I'm just learning how to do these crafts. Haven't even started yet, but I got everything but the InkJet printer I need to buy. When it comes to the waterslide decals and the printer, does it matter what kind of ink you use? Is it the regular ink that comes with the printer or a special type? Also, what program do you use to make the decals? How do they come out with golden shiny letters? Lol. I'm very new to this, still learning! I need to know every detail before I attempt one. I've been looking at the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless Color All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank printer, and the Canon MegaTank G3270 All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer, which I hear good things about for Tumbler making. Would you say these are good for this?
@SandysOrganizedChaos

Great questions. I am using a standard inkjet printer with regular ink. I do try and make sure the quality is set to the best it can be when I print pictures. You can print from any program. I typically just use Cricut Design Space, but I’ve also printed from Word and GIMP photo editor before. I can’t speak to either of those printers, but I have heard good things about the EcoTank printers. I’m using an HP ENVY photo printer, but it’s nothing fancy.
What printer do you have and what ink do you get from sams club?
So say I have a motorcycle helmet in black, would I be able to use this method and would I use white background or transparent?
Okay so I’m gonna try my first cup. I’m spray painting it...so do I seal the cup with a spray seal before I apply the water slide and then use epoxy to go over everything? Or epoxy the cup and the the water slide and spray seal last?
@SandysOrganizedChaos
3 жыл бұрын
Spray paint your tumbler, print out your decal and spray the decal, after the decal is dry you can apply it to the tumbler, let that dry, give the whole tumbler a light coating of spray sealer, let that dry, then give the whole tumbler a coat of epoxy. It may need a second coat of epoxy just to ensure nothing will chip over time.
Great video! Will the Cricut cut out the image instead of doing it by hand? Just got my waterslide paper and my cup is ready for me to try this! Thanks!

How do you get your colors to come out so vibrant? I have an epson ecotank 2850 that I just bought & converted in to a sublimation printer. My inks are printing out very dull. Do you know how I can get my images to com out vibrant? Thank u
Can you use any image, like even if I just made something myself in the design space or does it have to be an SVG? Do you need to epoxy over it?
@SandysOrganizedChaos
2 жыл бұрын
It can be any image. And I would recommend sealing it with epoxy once applied to your tumbler.
Do you HAVE to print that image from your cricut app or can it just be regular print ? Also can you seal with mod podge spray ?
@jadedsurrealism
3 жыл бұрын
If you're cutting by hand, use another program. It's pointless to print from design space if you're not using the cricut to print it.
Hi, can I ask, how did you make the decal stay and not peel off? It was my first using it, and after a couple hours it peel off? is there any tip how to make it stick and stay? thank you in advance.
Do I have to put epoxy over the sticker once it dries?? I know you said to do it but was wondering if it’s necessary
@SandysOrganizedChaos
3 жыл бұрын
Over time it will scratch off. You could alway experiment and make yourself one and see how it does.
How long have you’ve been using this? I’ve seen some people always use a Cricut.. which I do want to have one later on in life but since I’m a beginner I wanted to get the hang of it first and be a little cheap
