DUDE! It works! Thank you. Just figured out how to stay on pitch with a vowel part that I've been having trouble with. Narrowing the mouth helps to hold it and stay on pitch! 😁

There are many videos where coaches instruct their students to narrow the mouth by either using both hands on each side of the mouth or using the fingers as shown in this video. One of the Jonas brothers shapes his mouth as a fish’s mouth. Maybe he’s doing it to narrow his mouth. Tensing the mouth corners may help. It certainly makes the sound sharper.

I think so. Don’t forget to use low volume first. When you’re feeling it’s getting easy, increase the volume just a bit or you’ll fail and then search forever for « better » videos.

Why is it so much easier to go through the bridge when doing those sirens? Is it because we’re not using the unnecessary muscles you’re talking about?

you're just not used to listening to the way you sound. record yourself when you practice, when singing, hear how you sound, you'll learn to love your voice. keep on practicing, don't give up. I ddnt like the sound of my voice too, until I started listening to myself in recordings, I recorded myself singing and now I'm a very good singer and I love my sound

I can sing well with chest voice but everytime i go to a really high head voice i start to strain it gets on my nerves

Use the little voice you had when you were 6. That will prevent as least muscle as possible.

The day my puberty hit .. I lost my high pitch voice
