Beginner Macrame Wall Hanging Using Only Square Knots, Easy and Cheap Afternoon Project

This is a simple wall hanging made with only square knots, great for beginners or an afternoon/weekend project! It doesn't use much rope and you can use a fairly short dowel. You can also add more or less pieces, or a longer or shorter dowel. Definitely a versatile project!

FINISHED SIZE:
13.5" wide x 32" long (including hanging string)
ROPE TOTALS:
12-14 inch driftwood or dowel (0.75-1 inch diameter)
100 inches/2.5m x 14 pieces
30 inch piece for hanging string
Total: 35m
A smaller gauge rope will use less and a larger gauge will use more.

So much string is left over, I understand you can use some of the pieces in other projects but most of them are too short. I would want to make mine shorter next time. It’s a nice pattern
What do you do with all that leftover cord you cut? Love the video by the way

Fringe, feathers, tassels, or small projects like earrings, keychains, or car charms. It can also be used to practice a new knot or to test a dye color. Sometimes my toddler plays with scraps lol some of it just gets thrown away but I reuse a decent amount.

too much rope left afterwards, could use shorter strands. Overall, not bad.

@@MandalaBunnyhome Thats so weird.. when I was watching it there was 5 ad breaks 10 secs long. Maybe because I paused in between parts to catch up?
