BEGINNER FRIENDLY Trail in Phoenix - Apache Wash Loop (The Whole Trail start to finish)

Looking for a beginner friendly trail fit for anyone, in the Phoenix Area? Then look no further, Apache Wash Loop is a well maintained trail that offers riders and hikers a place to get some miles in without a bunch of technical bits thrown in. With that being said, there are a few sections where rock croppings might intimidate someone new or not comfortable with their bike. Any of those sections can be walked (hike-a-bike) if need be but also provide an excellent opportunity to practice/session those type of sections to gain confidence and skills on the bike!!
The Apache Wash Loop can also be used to work on endurance and get miles in or an after work therapy session 😉.
This video was put together to help anyone who wants to know what to expect of this trail and decide if it's something they would like to explore themselves. Maybe help them figure out if it's appropriate for their significant other (who is new or doesn't ride often, is beginner..etc...), children, ride buddies...
As mentioned in the video it could also be used for Indoor Trainer rides (Mute and put some music on if you don't want to hear me talk 🙃)
While riding I provide some topics that are part of my world right meow, mostly updating where I'm at with my health and talking about changes I've made, the Whoop Strap I'm trying and a little bit about my racing, hope you enjoy it. Don't forget to hit that thumbs up button and subscribe to the channel. If you're still reading this.....I LOVE YOUR FACE! 🥰😘

Thought you might wish to know how you became my favorite KZreadr. You made this recording on the day my sweetheart wife died. I had spent a very lonely 5 years caring for her with Alzheimer's disease. She was terribly afflicted with the symptoms, seldom spoke and more seldom made any sense when she spoke. It was a great blessing for her when God brought her home. Me too, Anyway I was confronted with what to do with myself now that she had moved ahead. At one time I had been an avid street biker and did 30 miles every weekend. I believed I could do that again and enjoy it. Turns out I got covid a week after her funeral and spent a few months in bed...emerging barely able to walk. I tripped over this video when I was bedridden. I was thoroughly charmed by your approach and personal content. Over a year later I am still struggling to get fit enough to do a real bike ride. I have watched all your you tube videos at least once. This one a great many times. If ever we meet on the trail I will likely ask you for a big hug since you unknowingly filled a huge gap of loneliness when I needed you the most.

I love Apache Trail, I have a Liv. Your reel helps me measure the loop. I've only done a little loop a t Apache but thank you, it gives me confidence. I'm more anxious not on my strength, but anxious about venturing far in the desert. This is a great video.

I've only road Ocotillo and Sidewinder once and it was about 3-3.5 years ago. I was still new to MTB but if I remember correctly I enjoyed them. I walked a lot of the bigger climbs. Might have to give them another go with my current skill and fitness level 💪🏼 Apache is a great little ride. My favorite time on it was with the family 🥰

@@RCRGIRL How cool - we meet so many people from Ohio out here! We are from the Youngstown area. I had a chance to ride the AW trail on Saturday and liked it - although I must admit, I did get lost, I think I took one too many connectors and missed the trailhead. Was all good though. Again, truly appreciate the beginner trail recommendations you provided. Look forward to taking them for a trial run!

Thanks Donna, I watched and listened to the video twice yesterday while doing our income taxes. It was 6 degrees Fahrenheit here and blowing a gale, so indoor work was best. The trail looks like it would be great for us, and good parking too. Once in a while in our travels, we have wanted to ride an area, but the parking seemed a bit sketchy. We look forward to trying it out next winter. Take care, Ben from Nova Scotia

Enjoyed reading that and I even tried to hear it in my head with an accent (haha). I LOVE accents. That is really cold, holy moly! We're currently in the mid 70's and occasionally dipping into the low 80's. How is the riding in Nova Scotia? During you're prime time of course.

@@RCRGIRL Hello Donna, The riding here in Nova Scotia is great during the summer and fall. We were able to ride almost to Christmas. Lots of trails through the forest with views of the ocean. In the spring it is mud season, very slow and messy. We stick to a trail close to home in the spring that was converted from a railway , but it is still too icy and mucky for us. We have seen a few hardcore riders on the trail with studded tires, but we are hoping things will melt and dry up in a few weeks. Take care Ben and Sue

I've done that combination before (Ocotillo and Sidewinder) it was back at the beginning of my MTB adventures, few years ago meow. I enjoyed it from what I can remember though I do remember there being some decently long gradual climbs! Pretty sure I pushed at the end of a couple of them haha. That's rad you're doing it on a SS!

Well you got my attention with the "odd burning in your arms feeling". I started having what I've been calling sport neuropathy back last August. Burning in the arms, across the chest , and in the lower jaw. It started a couple of weeks after i increased my riding routine. I let it go for a while and then thought because I'm 69 lets get some tests , make sure its not heart related. I got tests, negative, so doc said let's wait, see what happens over the winter when i, who lives in Canada, had to stop riding for a few months. I still have it. It happens at odd times, 4am, and sometimes when initial physical exertion happens. I don't know if you and i are having something similar but one small relief i found was when it happens if i lean over the back of a chair, with a couple of blankets or pillows on it, and just hang over , arms down , i get relief with in a minute or so where otherwise i would be ten minutes of very uncomfortable experience. Anyway good luck with everything. I also have had surgery, related to Ulcertive Colitis, major scene, and am back in the world again riding. Thanks for the videos, they helped inspire me to get back out there. Bless

Another Warrior fighting the invisible fight! That's what it feels like sometimes. I've had a host of symptoms and had surgery January of 2020 to remove my implants, 90% sure they were poisoning me and causing all sorts of issues. The feeling we seem to both be experiencing or is at least similar, is circulation related (I'm guessing) like the blood pressure rises quickly and the body can't seem to pump it where it needs to go or possibly the vessels restrict and make it hard for the flow! I've had a bunch of tests both recently and as a teenager and a kid. Never could find anything that stood out. They speculated that I might be borderline Anemic back when I was a teenager, told me to (get this) eat a candy bar before I practiced or had a match. (Used to play Tennis competitively)....I thought that was the kickass' thing at the time. Told my mom SEE, I NEED that candy bar 😂 Anyway, hope you can get some more answers and I LOVE that you're getting back out there and exploring/riding!! 🥰
