To me, the opening takes the ashy type of smokiness found in Maahir Black and combines it with the sweet oud of Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud. Mix in some Middle Eastern spices and you have Majd Al Sultan. The drydown is much different than the opening and is a woody/amber/vanilla type of scent with hints of smoke in the background. I also seem to get a tiny bit of "inkyness" but i think that might be the style of oud they are using.

This fragrance reminds me a lot to Lalique Encre Noire Al’ extreme but this one is easier to wear and probably more people would like this one to Lalique’s because of the sweetness. I don’t see the resemblance with Ameer Al Oudh Intense, I wonder what I can layer this one with?🤔

But if I had to compare them RWI is better. these are the only 2 lattafas I currently own and i will use Al Sultan for layering with other scents. I too am kind of disappointed at the performance.

It’s weird that you have only gotten about 5-6 hours with this fragrance. I’ve worn this to work for 10-12 hour shifts and have still been able to smell it when I get home, even after washing my work clothes. It’s not a beast mode fragrance but I can still get about two feet of projection through out my work day. I spray it twice on my neck, once on my chest, that is perfect for me.
