Before You Buy | EV Edition

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I go over three areas that you as a consumer may need to pay extra attention to when buying and owning and EV. These areas are not a major focus- if focused on at all- when dealing with an traditional vehicle.
Those three areas are -
The EV itself.
Your place of residence.
And finally, out in the real world, traveling, charging using public chargers, maintaining, etc.
Gear
Camera-Galaxy S10+

Thank you so much for making this video. I have had my i3 for six years and bought it used. Last month was the last that BMW would honor the battery warranty so I took it in to get the battery tested. If it is below 70% that is a fail. I had to pay $205 to get the software updated (which doesn't give you any other benefits for the car) just to do the test - if it doesn't fail I was also on the hook for $235 testing fee. It failed so I got a brand new battery. after a few weeks. I went from 11.8 battery capacity to 19.9 battery capacity. I have also researched that with my short trips to and from work (about 15 miles) that I should try to keep the battery between 50% and 70% charged to help with the longevity. I was really abusing the charging (mostly going to 100%). It's been a great learning experience. Make sure you know exactly when your battery warranty expires - it can pay off big time and keep your i3 on the road longer. I hope to drive this one into the ground.
